1st granite, early spring:
I have arrived at the fortress, and I was astounded by its size and complexity. Thinking back, it
was probably a bad idea to take control here...
2nd granite:
Now that my tenure as leader has officially begun, I have realised that with over 1000 drink,
plenty of food, and jobs for most of the population, I will only really need to lightly supervise
the fortress. Therefore, I will atempt a personal project of my own... Lava waterfall!!!
2nd Granite:
Or not. It would appear that there is no bauxite. Damn. Also started construction of arond 50
cabinets, to put into bedrooms of all the dwarves.
12th Granite:
Recruited a couple more wrestlers, designated around 20 animals to be locked up in cages and
started the construction of my water waterfall. I have warned the other dwarves that they should
take care of themselves, as I will be concentrating on my project.
16th Granite:
Out of wood.
3rd Slate:
After realising that I only had one mechanic, I made a couple of random dwarfs some, to help with my waterfall. I also recruited around 7 people into the military to train up their wrestling. Mostly just cheesemakers and peasants.
28th Slate:
Waterfall is nearing construction. I have left pretty much everything else up to itself, seems to
be going fine.
2nd Felsite:
A legendry engraver takes hold of a craftsdwarf's workshop, thankfully he looks to have what he
needs. Also got some migrants, including a dungeon master. In other news, the production of wood
and stone goods has stopped pretty much entirely, as I am at a loss with what to build.
Everything seems to be going smoothly so far...
7th Felsite:
Another fell mood.
8th Felsite:
Waterfall complete! I really hope this does not flood the fortress...
9th Felsite:
So far so good. Everyone getting happy thoughts
10th Felsite:
Oh snap. Meeting hall is starting to fill up with water. Also, no planning ahead means I forgot
to include a way to break the flow. This is NOT good.
12th Felsite:
Ok. Solved it by taking out one of the gear assemblies, but this means that all my work so far is
useless pretty much, and that half the dining room is filled with water. Oh and artifact complete, a galena crown worth 32,400.Unfortunatly, the creater was possessed, which sucks. Note to next people. The lever in the meeting hall cuts the waterfall in case of overflow. I repeat, it does not flood the fortress in lava.
16th Felsite:
I may have just killed the legendry miner...
Cause as of yet unknown, but I think I can safely say that it has something to do with the
waterfall. Thankfully he is not married, and has no friends.
17th Felsite: Yes, he fell several z levels while digging the waterfall enlargement. He was standing on top of the grate, when a cave-in happened. Unfortunate. But kinda funny
22nd Felsite:
Waterfall working again! Now I just need to find some bauxite and I can create a lavafall.
Only done spring so far, but have already run out of things to do, now that I have completed my waterfall. I have people smelting around the clock, but my forges, carpentry and mason workshops are all unused for the most parts. Any ideas? Should I be making lots of stuff? Also, food production seems to be taking care of itself, I haven't touched it, but I still have plenty of food.
Oh and I am running at about 40 FPS
(Before waterfall was going, could be even lower now...)
Edit: Was running at around 25-30 FPS with waterfall, had to turn temperature off, am sitting on around 50 at the moment
