Get Firefox. Nifty in-browser spellchecking.

As for throwing live childrens, I bet there's a way to wrestle and throw 'em. Still, there should be a system of grabbing small creatures (when you have sufficient strength and size to capture, restrain, and lift them) and perhaps throw them about as missiles.

I'm pretty sure if you're really really strong you can get some distance out of thrown enemies, whether or not it can damage people they hit is up to debate.

I've never been able to move live enemies by throwing them, and even if it is possible, you don't get to pick a direction.  You can get some distance out of hammered ones though.

It would be nice if you pick up and move any unconscious (maybe even just stunned) unit.  I suppose a cage or rope could be used to restrain one if you're not planning to take it out of your backpack before it comes to it's senses, and you don't want it taking a chunk out of the back of your head.

What happens if you send a chained enemy flying with a hammer blow? Does it's head get pulled off?

pretty sure it dosen't, i had a chained dragon get sent flying from a goblin macelord, and i don't remember its head being detached, though it did die when it hit the cliff.  there wasn't a head laying around that i noticed at least

How it it happened to captain Ahab before the book.

Captain Ahab cancels search: White Whale near by.
Captain Ahab throws -iron spear-.
The spinning  -iron spear- strikes Moby Dicks upper body
The shot glances away.
Captain Ahab throws ☼steel spear☼.
The spinning ☼steel spear☼ strikes Moby Dicks upper body
It is pierced!
The ☼steel spear☼ has lodged firmly in the wound!
White Whale bites Captain Ahabs left lower leg.
It is mangled!
Moby Dick latches on Captain Ahabs left lower leg.
Captain Ahab twists the embedded +steel spear+.
Moby Dick shakes its head violently.
The left lower leg is ripped away and remains in Moby Dick's grip!
Captain Ahab gives in to pain.
Moby Dick flees.

Did i do that right?

Also, my "rescued" child was ambushed by a cougar not far from where i saved her...later threw her corps at a lion before it could catch up to me, he didn't take the bait so i was eaten alive.

as a extremely strong human and great wrestler, i lobbed an elf by the ear some 4 tiles away.

a bronze colossus also lobbed one of my dwarves in dwarf mode into another dwarf.

all it did was stun him.

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but is killing the prisoner still the only way to get rid of them? I'm standing in a room with both this human child's parents, and they're just ignoring him while he ignores them.
In fact, I just recruited the kid's father, who I'm going to take with me to kill some hydra so I die less quickly. :D

I have found no method of un-recruiting prisoners.  I have even tried taking them to the town they were abducted from and then retiring.  If I resume adventuring later, the rescued children still follow me around.  Permanently retiring seems to be the only way to leave them in the town, and even then I'm not sure if they count as having returned to live there.

Are you sure? In Valcon's LP, and in several times I've tried, retiring seems to get rid of them

I just took the father and son out of town ('Cause I recruited them both) and killed the son. The father just watched while I set fire to a birch right next to both of them, and stood there and burned to death over his son's body.
