Invisible saves?
« on: July 16, 2008, 03:21:55 am »

I have so many worlds it's not funny, because I can't find the save files to delete them! There is not save folder in my data folder, but it still can find the saves anyway! Can anyone help?

Even when I delete the game and re-extract it, it still finds the saves!

Also, the worlds keep ending at the year 200 for some reason.

Are you on Vista?  It's probably putting them in that my documents place, wherever it is on Vista.  I've been yelled for not doing that as the default.

Well, I am using Vista, but they aren't in my documents. I've managed to compensate by going to a new desktop, where the saves don't seem to be read.

But how do I stop my worlds ending at the year 200?

Worldgen, by default, is set to end when 80% of the megabeasts are dead, or the year 200, whichever comes last.  All the megabeasts are dying early atm.  Read the forum a bit to find more info

Worldgen, by default, is set to end when either (80% of the megabeasts are dead and the year is greater than 200), or (the year is 1050).

Fixed that for you.  The region generator is a little bit overcomplicated...   :-\

Anyway, just go to the start menu, search for files or folder, put in "region1", wait for it to show up.

I think it has to do with whether you are an admin on the computer or not, but I don't know.  I'm still on XP.

I'm an admin on my Vista, works fine for me.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

It might be not-admin that causes the problems..  In which case a Limited Account on XP should have the same effect...

I recently installed Vista on my computer at home, and the way I've seen Vista handle things, I doubt it would be the same on XP.  When I get home, if I can remember, and if nobody has this answered, I'll do some tests, and report back.
