Bug or feature?: Traps killing my dwarves

The falling stone traps were placed outside, in well traversed areas.  Two dwarves were just killed in separate incidences.  I'm hoping this is a feature.

Were the dwarves injured at all? Were they still sane?

I think the only way dwarves trigger traps is if they pass out, or have gone berserk.

Both were sane, both died, and both are in my refuse pile now.

Then they weren't sane. Corpses from your civ don't end up in the refuse pile unless they did something very bad.

More likely they were sane, and it is a bug. Dwarves don't generally just go randomly mad while wandering about.

This has been reported on another message board I go to.
Bug, I think.

Although I think that if you use rubbish mechanisms this should happen occasionally as a feature.
