[39a/b] Elf worldgen adventurers not as one with nature
« on: July 15, 2008, 11:28:02 am »

Wilderness wandering elves in worldgen happily slaughter innocent animals when they go adventuring in worldgen. I'm talking groundhogs and stuff here, not predators (who shouldn't attack worldgen elves).

This really shouldn't happen, what with elves' oneness with nature and all.

Let's face it... Elves are hippy hipocritical do as I say, not as I do, bastards, and always have been, from their 'ethical' only the wood you buy from US is ecologically sound, to their kill and eat people because it's not natural to waste the tasty tasty meat.

Seems like a perfect model of that rl sect in my experience.

But in game the elves do not kill animals while they do it during worldgen. I guess this is just an omission.

plus setting the wood on fire, even next to the local druid, evokes no response.
(at least when playing as an elf)

Was the elf a hunter or a wanderer?  Was it still part of an elf civ?  The only place I see where a groundhog can be killed is off the hunting great beasts profession, which the elf civs don't have.  Was it in a large world?  It could also be related to some of those culling errors in that case.
