I'd like to know why the elves have enough troops to afford these swarming assaults. You'd think that the sheer numbers of losses they sustain in all these wars would do for them early on.

They don't die due to age.

Elves while weak at the start... become unquestionably powerful in just a 1-2 hundred years from what little I observed... They were being defeated (One Human civilisation managed to actually take down all the elves in their area) early in the game however slowly they became more and more powerful until the humans were playing a game of "Please don't kill us"

I can only guess it is because once they get the non-pushover heroic Elves they can trounce EVERYONE!!!

That makes sense. Legendary humies die in a paltry hundred years. Legendary elves can only be killed by violence. And unlike gobbos, they won't kill each other off...

That's actually horrifying to conceive of.

All of ye Elf huggin' pansies make me sick.

The only thing I see goin' on here is cowardice and safety in numbers.

Oh my. Elves have become more awe inspiring than 2d elephant to the power of 3d carp multiplied by giant cave spider.

Yay, I've been quoted!

If you for some reason, you don't want cannibal elves, you can always just go into raw/objects/entity_default.text and change the elves    [ETHIC:EAT_SAPIENT_KILL:ACCEPTABLE] to [ETHIC:EAT_SAPIENT_KILL:UNTHINKABLE]

...but what's the fun in that?

This is inspiring me to create a Zombie civilization, though.

I kinda like the cannibal tree-huggers. I might try modding down their birthrate and lifespans, though, just to stop them from eating the world by year 1000.

I believe Elves also have another secret power... due to their high birth rates and the world population limits... I think Elves quickly use up everyone else's maximum population.

Meaning they could end up killing off human populations without even touching them.

I was looking through the legends for one of my worlds. A single, 25ish year old elf defended a site for around 3 years from constant human attacks of 5-10 people. One attack was by a bronze colossus which fell before the elf. The lone elf ended up killing 12 creatures, 11 humans and one bronze colossus at the end of his reign, killed by a human that had led the last few attacks. The elf ate practically every corpse of every human kill he made. In nearly every fight he had lost some body part or gotten some horrible wound. By the end he wasn't looking too good.

Here's my summary of the new version:
*People sleep forever
*Humans and elves hate each other
* The elves are vicous canibalistic zergs
*The goblins are friendly and let other races live in their dark fortresses, including dwarves.

I made the elves not pref wood. Well they attacked places more reasonably - and constantly. However they rarely won. I have a human war hero who killed 34 elves AND 1 demon without injury.

Eventually the elves + others fought just some other elves, with the mixed forces winning.

*BTW elves have negative  damblock which makes em weaker.*

While I still hate the elfs, You gotta respect their war lust.

Edit:

I believe Elves also have another secret power... due to their high birth rates and the world population limits... I think Elves quickly use up everyone else's maximum population.

Meaning they could end up killing off human populations without even touching them.

If you nullify the population (sets it to 0) then hit 4 (decreases the value to no cap), you have populations that can get quite large.
