Cannibal Elves
« on: July 14, 2008, 12:26:43 pm »

For some reason, the elves in my first pocket world were fond of eating people. The humans wiped them out because of this strange practice, but not before many humans had been devoured.

If you check the raws for elves they have consuming other race's corpse as acceptable. I dont' know if this intentional or just a bug.

If you go to Legends -> Age Name -> then press enter when the war/battle you want to view is highest on the screen -> (only applies for wars) then press enter when the specific battle you want to view is highest on the screen -> that screen
Nifty, eh?

I may be wrong, but I think this is a design decision.  Elves are very in tune with nature, and they don't waste anything if they can help it.

That includes the meat of the foes they've killed.

And yet they refuse to buy anything made of animal or tree byproducts. Perhaps someone's upped the ante among the more extreme animal rights groups?
...
Wait, that doesn't make any sense. They sell animals. Even after they've been offered things made from those animals, too, I'd bet.
I guess they're just trying to be the best pricks they can be?

This one really is a Toady One feature.  I forget where (probably way back in FotF), but he dropped that elves would be eating defeated enemies in worldgen, and it made a good gag for a few days.  Now we get to see it in action, and combined with the whole zerg-rush thing, elves are now Uruk-Hai.

Also, I've got a group of elves (maybe universal, don't know) who, once a generation, defeat a human town and then KILL EVERYONE. I've got two elves with titles just for drowning a populace.

I'm getting that the bug is not the cannibalism, it's the aggressiveness. Elves probably should not be laying waste to all humans in the world because Jimmy HumanMeat chopped down a tree in the year 1.

Do goblin snatchers sell babies to the elves now, as bite-size snacks?

No, elves and the other races go to war over the ethics of cannibalism.  Personally I think it should stay that way.  Far too long have the elvish tricksters hid among the other races as peaceful nature lovers.  It was only a matter of time before their true nature was revealed.  Now the other races must ban together and fight against the pointy eared menace before the waves of the immortal savages kill them all!
