http://www.gateworld.net/atlantis/s3/315.shtml

There's even an episode where they play Dwarf Fortress (more or less).

Also have 3 seasons of Atlantis. Saw this episode and immediately thought "Hey, those would all be great features for DWAAARF FORTRESS!"

Lysine contingency. The dwarves cannot manufacture lysine for themselves, so they go into comas, and die.

Hi!

They wake up if you flood the room....

The question is, of course, how do you flood the room if all your original 7 dwarves are asleep? (^_^;;

I am wondering, though, if hostile creatures could disturb their sleep. Miasmas certainly have no effect, and drafting them also doesn't help.

Edit/cheat and make the raws [NO_EAT][NO_SLEEP][NO_DRINK] for dwarves in creature_standard raw if you must play dwarf mode and are impatient.

Now to try to figure out how to set up mechanics that automatically flood the rooms and drain them out before anyone goes to sleep!

You only need the NO SLEEP one, they eat and drink just fine, if they are awake

I had an Imp come say hello while the dwarves were sleeping. At least one dwarf did wake up and run around before burning to death. He was still thirsty and hungry.

Quick!  Somebody mod in a reverse Snow White so she can go in, kiss the dwarves and wake them up!

Well looks like toady put up a warning on the main page about this.  Sadly we'll never see him again as he wanted to SLEEP before fixing this.

This has been fixed for next time, supposedly.  Next time should be in about five or six hours.  The unconsciousness changes I did for sleeping guards in adv mode were interfering with the dwarves, who treat sleep like a job (which can't be advanced when they are incapacitated).  Now, I made them go to sleep, waited, and they got up.  It seemed like they were sleeping a little faster than usually, but I wasn't really sure, since fps can vary from map to map.  I can always tweak the sleep time later should it prove to be too short.
