Not quite a bug (I think), but I found a named Giant Desert Scorpion in the middle of the forest on my way to fight a named Grizzly Bear.  Can named creatures leave their biomes?

Well, are you going to tell it where it can and can't go? :)
Another good one would have been "Of course it's not a bug... it's an arachnid!

Nah, but I killed it.

Edit: Also, whenever I am ambushed by wolves in Adventure, I can't travel because "Someone can see me" even tho everything is dead.

Just stick in the [NO_SLEEP] tag.
This wouldn't work with existing saves, only new world gens, right?

I did not investigate too much into it, but when I opened my fort from the previous version into the new version, after a short time I noticed my refuse stockpile was filling up with turtle shells and bones. I think I had only one dwarf on fishing duty, so this must be some kind of bug.

Is this new?

"You can't travel until you've stopped bleeding."

Does this mean I can't [T]ravel to save myself dying of a Mortal Wound? I'm used to a quick jog repairing the loss of a major organ!

I rather expected this release to break to break existing saves somewhat.  I am sure the future Armies stuff could get by on saves that don't have all the extra history, but it is much more immersive with the new/current histories.

I am really looking forward to setting up my fortress for the world domination phase.

I'm an idiot. I deleteted 38c and my fort-in-progress, and downloaded the new one, only to realize that (a) Mike Mayday's graphics pack won't work with the new one because it adds so much.

Then I learn the new version has a number of show-stoppers, and my favorite utilities (Regional Prospector and likely Dwarf Foreman) are broken. Oh well. C'est la vie, I'll wait for some updates.

What a nifty first megabeast encounter.

Toady, if I was a girl then I'd offer to have your babies as soon as you fixed the crippling bugs.

Edit: Damn, can't get it to work. I'm trying to use a custom tileset and DF is acting like I did something wrong, like get the filename wrong. But I didn't. I've double checked everything. Maybe I want it too small... is there anyone else out there who can't get 8x8 tilesets to work?

Edit 2: Any custom tilesets I put in won't get recognized by the game and when I open it all I get is a plain black screen.

Beautiful. The bug of dwarves sleeping forever is intentional; it reflects how Toady needs sleep after countless hours of bug-squashing.

Then I learn the new version has a number of show-stoppers, and my favorite utilities (Regional Prospector and likely Dwarf Foreman) are broken. Oh well. C'est la vie, I'll wait for some updates.
Yet another victim of "utility" addiction. Tsk, tsk.

I did the same thing.  I simply forgot to copy the actual bmp from the older version's /data/art folder to the new version's.  I felt dumb afterward.  You might have a different problem, though, and thus might not be as dumb as me.
