Haunted maps wow
« on: July 13, 2008, 07:44:42 pm »

I finally started a fort on a haunted map, half expected to be assailed by undead hippos and slaughtered instantly. No such luck yet...but two of my starting 7 have already been mauled to death by skeletal wolves and skeletal foxes have been snooping around making off with clothes.

I can only assume this is an omen of things to come and so now I'm really pumped about haunted maps.

Yeah, I had skeletal Rhesus macaques sneak into my fortress once.  I had to draft the whole town and have them attack them.  Horses are much worse though.

That's why it's best to have atleast one person specialized in Hammer or Mace fighting when you know you are going to be knee dead in skeletons.

Hey, I've been meaning to ask for a while, does someone have a link to the Nist Akath thread? When I searched the links were all dead, don't know if it was from the forum transfer or what. I keep hearing about it, and it sounds like a great story.

Huh its near the top of the DF Community Games & Stories subforum. I don't know how you have had trouble finding it. Just look for the thread with the most pages.

Or you could just click this link :http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=19279.0

Oh...somehow I got the idea that that was some kind of sequel to the first thread.

Yeah, that's how. Guess I have some reading to do.

This is a fox skull helmet. All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. It menaces with spikes of fox bone and is encircled with bands of fox leather. This item is haunted by the ghost of Alfador Angrorung the fox.

I tried setting the minimum evil squares to max in all 3 fields on the world gen screen, but I still get regular old non-haunted worlds. How do I fix this? I want a completely haunted world.
