Genocide Party!
« on: July 13, 2008, 04:54:54 pm »

Since the new version will be out very soon, and we will no longer need our current worlds, I propose a raw-experimentation party.  We go in, modify various  attributes in the game's raws folder, and then see what happens.  I just turned humans' homeotherm to 10 and back, and am now heading to my character's hometown to see what it looks like, with everyone in the town mysteriously frozen.

What have you guys done/plan to do to your soon-to-be useless worlds?

Creepy, it's full of wild horses, and everyone's dissolved into pools of blood.

Maybe I should find a mod that allows me to play a Bronze Collosus... Ill go around the world and destroy every civilisation I stumble across... Except Dwarves... who shall live because I don't dare step foot in it

Did Toady say that current worlds won't be compatible with the new release? In this case, what I'll do is tap an aquifer in winter. This way, it will flood my fortress and immediately freeze, creating an ice wall that prevents escape.

Then I'll loose my caged bronze colossus upon anyone who hasn't drowned.

Since we're getting all this new history stuff, I can't see why anyone would want to keep their old worlds.  I've held off on making new fortresses since we're so close.

Also, playing as a monster, how does one do this?

I just turned elves into horrible monsters, with ingame speed 3333.  They have claws now, they're size 9, 5 damageblock, and eight eyes.

Dunno.

But yeah, they're crazy.  I clawed a guy nearly to death, then tore his head off before he even got an action.

I just tried replacing goblins with dragons.

You would be surprised how long a crack squad of xbow dwaves can hold out.

Eventually though, everything burns.

I made a new world just to fool around in where EVERYTHING built cities, and gave everything a starting number of people of 50, so the world is vastly overpopulated.

EDIT: Nevermind, turns out that humans completely wiped out the dwarves and elves. Guess im living in the age of fairy tales now. And my character is named Toki Wartooth, so i must kill everything.

Can player-controlled dragons breathe fire?

Well, when I made a civ with fire-breathing creatures, I couldn't figure out how to make my characters breathe fire.  Drunks become a lot more useful, though.

I was dissapointed when I found out I couldn't breathe fire. I made humans have 7 noses, 1 ear, 12 eyes, and 9 lungs. Unfortunately, it blinded everybody for some reason. I also made their primary attack a bite. I tried to go on a rampage but the other peasants were breathing fire and eventually a child bit me in half after snacking on my guts.

Yeah, when I added more than two eyes it blinded me, too.  The humans finally killed me, a spearman got me through the hand, and I pulled it out and threw it at him.  Then I passed out, and the entire town went at me.  A guard impaled my head on a spear.

Can someone post the stuff in their raw files that allows them to play as other races? I've been trying to successfully mod in the Bronze Colossus as a playable race, but no dice.

Just wondering since I want to crush some people before the new release. ;D

I think that you have to make a new entity entry, or change the creature tag on one of the existing ones. To make an entity controllable, you need to add [CIV_CONTROLABLE] or something like that.
