Break the quest, break the game?

So, I'm testing a theory here, and so far it's repeated itself twice.

Situation: Adventure mode as a dwarf, killer of the goblins and elves. Member of a human religion.

The setup: Let's get a quest! I accept a quest from the Dwarven king to kill a particular goblin (The high-priest or the axelord) in the nearby tower.

The plot twist: I kill the king.

The denouement: I complete the quest with blood, murder, and mayhem (This last time I found a large :D), go back to the dwarven site, leave again, and go to my human town to save.

The chilling conclusion: Upon saving, the game crashes.

I have a feeling that it's something to do with the quest, and the fact that it's unfinishable. I don't think it has anything to do with stolen items (As I've been using the same stuff for quite some time and saving) or with a capital N missing from my tileset.

Alright, 3rd time it's happened, if I repeat the exact same chain of events.

And the fourth time it didn't do it... How odd.

I wonder if it'll happen in a clean world in the new version.  Some things have been changed, unrelated to quests, that might alleviate some of the adv mode crashes.
