Thanks to the spectacular failure of my previous fort, I will now attempt a more difficult chalenge. But which one?

Doomed Sees - 15 votes Winner!
A Haunted Ocean. I will attempt to construct a glass fortress below the water. The shore is a heavily forested wilderness, so I won't be going hungry any time soon. Biggest challenge will be the aquifer.

The Frost of Bands - 1 vote
A glacier sitting on Limestone. That means Calcite and Magnetite, and therefore steel. It's also cut-off from the rest of the world, so I'm not sure if I'll get caravans, immigrants or even goblins. Wilderness though, which means I'll have Seven Short Seskimos.

Forest of Acts - 13 votes
A freezing, thick and calm, heavy forest. This area is a boxed in canyon isolated from the rest of the world. Good news is I have four goblin forts nearby to keep me company. I wonder if they like Dwarven Ale?

The Gulf of Veneration - 1 vote
A Mirthful Temperate Ocean bordering the Haunted Jungles of Meanness and The Forest of Warding Wilderness area. Wooden Fort anyone? Lot's of nearby civilizations, so that means plenty of trading.

I asked for the fortress, because the last ocean fort I read ended quicker than (well, maybe as quickly as) yours did.

If you want to check, tap tab whilst on the site selection screen (what's its name? world map?) and you'll eventually get to neighboring civilizations which can effect your play.

A castle of unicorn soap sounds pretty epic, but my vote goes to the Doomed Seas. It's been awhile since anyone survived the zombie tuna longer than a year.

And in any case, my vote goes to the Forest of Acts.  I like woods, I like goblin-infested, I like cold, and I particularly like cold woods with a goblin infestation.  And it's even in a canyon, which is icing on the cake.

Looks like no matter where I go, I have dwarves as neighbours. So that means at the very least immigrants and the liaison.

That is always true. You could be stranded on an island and still get a dwarven caravan.
