Though I suppose Agincourt would have something to say about bow balance...

Which would be counterpointed by the battles of Patay and Formigny, both decided by French cavalry. Although important battles, Agincourt and Crecy have been far overblown in-so-far as the longbow is concerned.

http://www.diggerhistory.info/pages-battles/ww1/anzac/gallipoli-facts.htm

Happened in the battle of Gallipoli:

"Some British troops did bathe and drink tea at Suvla Bay whilst horrific fighting was taking place a few miles to the south"

Sounds a bit dwarfish to me.

Which reminds me, when are we going to get mounts in this game? Don't goblins already ride beakdogs? I want dwarves riding... i dunno... war pigs or elephants or something!

You could catch and tame Elves to be your mounts!  Then slaughter them when they become lame...

Here in the netherlands we also had something similar. In case of an attack, we would just flood the useless farmland surrounding the important cities and let them get across in rowboats and rafts while being shot at with cannons.
I'm amazed they still tried to get across. When the land can be flooded and no one cares, that's a sign that it's not worth attacking.
The wealth, my friend.
