Posting to express interest.  I am currently working on a more detailed post containing god, race, and nation specifics.

I'm thinking the fluff is going to be an old empire that has lost most of its land since gods became active in this world, and in despiration their leaders are calling out to something very bad.  I would like the southern peninsula starting from (42, 101) down to (34, 119) as the old empire site.   The last remaining city would be at (35, 118).  Remember, this paragraph is fluff and can be changed.

Now a brief overview of the crunch.  My race could be, very roughly, described as giant ants.  The military will largely consist of demons summoned through blood sacrifice.  What you sacrifice determines what you get, so prisoners can be used to increase the size of the military.  The race is fast across even ground of any type, fairly quick across most other land.  They have about human intelligence and a little more strength.  They require plenty of food to fuel their rapid metabolisms.

Actually, claims for lands have to go into the civ description, but it's nice if you tell us that you updated your description.

It is best, however, to discuss claims on the IRC channel, to sort out any possible conflicts.

BTW, I'm claiming the (20,60) island.

i'm brimming with excitement! i cant wait to start :D
its not going to be like last game, where every race was basically isolated from each other. with so many players, and before the game even starts, its going to be incredible! and not to mention adventurers and such. i wonder what place the Renegades will make for themsleves in this world. i have a feeling its going to be an invisible war between Istrian's Tower and my Renegades, him trying to influence the races and me trying to drive them into chaos, or supplying them with black-market items and weapons... i'm sooooo excited :D

EDIT: oh and Akroma, correct me if i'm wrong, but i think someone just claimed a starting place in the wasteland were you wanted to go for you-know-what, and not only that, but its right between me and you :D this is going to be an interesting start...

Well, if he insists starting right there, there is nothing I can do. I still hope that You-Know-What will not take kindly to it if all of the sudden a group of dwarves appears next to You-Know-What

I for one know that Celsius won#t be pleased if she sees You-know-what on a certain someones table.

Not much wasteland on the map, all of it is around a # mark (huge ruin visible from space)
22,106 is another wasteland, but given the dead forest nearby its probably full of zombie and skeletal animals.

If you expand your definition of wasteland a bit:
There is glacier/tundra at the top of the map (frozen wastes)
And a largish desert around 32,75 (burning wastes)

Eventually, I'd like to join, but I just can not make heads or tails of the map.

Most of the map uses this ≈ tile, but at the bottom it says

≈ lake

Thus, almost the entire map is under water. Excuse me if this is supposed to be like that, but it just looks like a lot of wasted space...

The same tile is used for lake and ocean.
See the game thread for the up to date map and rules.  Some of the maps early in this thread are draft versions, and the map was filled with water before putting land on top.

It's with great saddness that I'm going to withdraw from the Battle of the Gods Three. I have so many good ideas for the zefies, but I really don't have the time comitment for it right now. It's better that I quit now, as opposed to later, right?
If anyone wants, they are more than welcome to use the zefies if they can't come up with their own race.

I really hate to do this, but with my inabilty to get to the IRC and all, I might be more of a burden than anything else. If I could though, can Strife stick around as a god? Just to give me an excuse to pop in ocasionally.

that's a desert island surrounded by ruins
