HELP! PURPLE!
« on: July 05, 2008, 09:13:17 pm »

I have some rotten cow meat stew in the middle of my dining room.  My cleaners won't get it and if I dump it nothing happens--and I believe that's because it's actually an owned rotten cow meat stew.  A marksdwarf lays claim.  Even if I forbid the item, they still *own* it.  How do I fix this (without killing the marksdwarf).

Wall off the area it's in until the stew is completely gone, then destroy the walls.

That's the kind of kick to the head I needed.  Walling off wasn't a good option, but I was able to just dig a channel under it.

 Thanks!

I fail at forum

 It could be worse.

"How do I mine for fish?"

Which hopefully will be possible sometime in the future. Heck, I would laugh if Toady adds a rare gem that creates fish when mined.

I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.

Does this count?:

I dug out the riverbanks from a brook and a lot of the surrounding ground with my miners which caused the water and carps (!) spread out on a large area. Then came winter and everything froze, including the carps to the glacier. Then I proceeded to mine the carps off the glacier with picks.

This all happened, while I was trying to drown my dwarves in one of my first forts ever called Barbdoctrine the Bad Arrow-Loaf of Anger. Now I tend to call it the Swimming School because it has shallow water everywhere.

Wasn't there something on the wiki about smelting cows?
