You've all seen the large . Now see the +roast+

I forbid dwarven wine from being a cooking ingredient while a dwarf was cooking with 4 wine barrels. He took a brief break to get something to eat, then came back, and made ... this:

The ingredients are?
No, quite the contrary: The ingredients aren't.

This is your exam question.

If a dwarf eats it, does it satisfy his hunger?
If so, why?

Looks like your dwarves are dieting.

I think it's more of a dwarfgram than a dwarfpound...  But then again, these are dwarves we're talking about here.

I wonder if this is the favorite food of dwarven nihilists...  It's either that, or something cooked up by a Professional Comedian.

Pity this isn't Nethack.  Someone could choke on the thing.

Or not-thing.

Serious question.  Is this a known bug and the source of all the "Large " stories I've heard, or some new discovery?

Well the Larges are because there are some materials without any crafts associated with them (antler? there are some others) and when the game is generating wealth for black towers, it selects a base material, then selects what specific craft to form.
If it grabs onto a material without any crafts, it resolves it by creating a the generic form of all crafts, which is apparently a diamond made out of nothing.
(i think)

Anyway, has anyone forbid the stone that a craftdwarf is working on? Would that generate a large or would the dwarf get another boulder.

This is definitely caused by some mod with wrong adjective for some creature or unnamed extract.

You'd have to use the stone menu (z - stone) to forbid the stone without canceling the task. Not sure if the stoneworker would have to take a break / get food / drink to refresh the job, but in the end, you'd get a *throne* or a -door- or somesuch.
