Some one is killing my dwarves, recently.

I zoom to Ibok.  He was in the kitchen, and there is no one else around.  A browse of the creature lists brings up no likely hostiles and, besides, no more death occur.

Until, a couple of seasons later...

Dumed Locunvucar, champion has suffocated to death"

Asleep, in his bed, fully armed and wearing all his armour.  Suffocated.

What the Hell is going on?!  I'm scared...

For the farmer: Check the justice tab of the z menu, see if any murders are listed

However, as for your champion: he had his throat ripped out in sparing. At a guess, i'd say some dwarf with a middling amount of experience with a well crafted steel weapon has hit him in the throat, and ripped it out. Now, since your champion is a champion, he should've had quite a high toughness level: this means that he won't fall unconscious as much or die as quickly. so, when his throat was ripped out, he made it all the way to his bed: until he died from suffocation.

 Dwarves are known to make mortal wounds to eachother accidently, then only notice they should be dead a month later.

 So unless you have tantrums, there are no murders. Although dwarves would make the best axe-murderers.

 Human: Ooh, so you ARE an axe murderer. You see, were wern't sure. But hey! I was right!

Hmmm... no, couldn't find any punishments for murder in the justice tab, and the guys that died weren't due for a hammering, either.

I guess it must've been a sparring accident and an... incident or sorts... then.

Aw... I wanted to believe one of the dozens of useless children I have did it.  Lazy little bearded bastards, that they are!
