No, I'm glad you didn't. Otherwise I'd have probably shredded myself in a paroxysm of rage after beating the second form and finding out that there was more.

I beat him, but on normal. Hard is impossible, at least for me. I can get all the way to 'hell'. But by the gods, those falling rocks, one hit kills....brutal.

The idea is to learn how to avoid all his attacks...at least until you get to his third form. From there its near impossible, and you just keep shooting and hope he dies first.

The...upgraded pistol(I forget the name) helps a lot, especially on the 2nd form, IIRC.

Spur, a level 3 Missile Launcher and Nemesis are BRILLIANT for Mr Final Boss Dude.

I can give you my strategy if you like, but I'll do so in PMs only.

Or take 1 hp of damage from the spikes, jump through his barrier with temp invuln, and use *all* the missiles.

I beat him multiple times (Hell was just so fun!) on the original version, not Cave Story+

Since then, I got Cave Story+ and I could swear that just Normal is harder than the original version, although, I also haven't played the game in a while.

You are forced to aquire both the Fireball and Blade. Chaco won't tell you about the Jellyfish Juice(which in turn spawns the Jellies) if you don't have the Fireball("My that's a dangerous thing you have there"*), and you can't leave the storehouse without picking up the Blade. I also learned that the upgraded Missile Launcher you get for tag-teaming against Balrog with Curly at the end of the Labrynth... okay, fuck, I forgot what happens. Either the chest is unopenable or turns into the normal Missile Launcher if you don't have it to begin with.

*Also, am I the only one who thought the Fireball looks a little inappropriate? Especially since immediately following this conversation, you can sleep with Chaco...

I suppose I should get around to beating Ballos eventually. I've sort of make a half-hearted attempt at it every few months or so, but by then it's been so long that I basically have to spend 3 hours learning to get through hell and after that I don't have the energy for a massive boss fight.
