Other than the fact that you lost, and the time you spend backtracking should be spent thinking about how you lost, and how to prevent yourself from losing again.

The Core is going to eat you alive.  Let alone Misery and the normal endgame.

The Hard ending is just plain ludicrous though.  I never even got out of the angel gauntlet.

 My advice for her is to use the fireball. She never jumps, so just spam fireball and jump over her shots.

 The reward is well worth it.

Optional? I'm relatively certain you can't clear the zone without beating her. Besides, the weapon she gives you allows infinite flight(with a bit of practice). Though it still isn't as good as the laser you can get later if you pass it up, I beat misery without getting hit using that thing(the laser, not the gun curly can give you).

Yeah, you do need to go in there eventually to get one of Jenka's puppies.  I think.  It's been a little while.  But really, all you need to do to beat Curly is waste her kids and jump whenever she stops to shoot at you.
