Pressure Plates and water

Can water set off a pressure plate?  If so, how much depth is required?  Thanks!

Ignore me, the wiki is my friend.

Another question though...reading through posts it sounds like pressure plates may not work?  Is that fixed in .38c?

somebody might object, but in my personal opinion, water triggered pressure plates are pretty useless at the moment. it's too easy to break them, and every setup that is built to counter the problems doesn't really need the plates in the first place, imho.

If you were making a water pressure tower trap they might be useful for shutting off the pumps once it is full. The biggest problem with pressure plates is that they need masterwork mechanisms to operate properly. The delay between the triggering really kills their effectiveness.

I thought the "quality affects delay" thing was a myth?

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

Last time I tested things, the bridge raised by low-quality mechanisms raised well before the bridge raised by masterwork mechanisms. The better-quality mechanisms were slower! My test wasn't well executed though, so time for a retest methinks.
