DF is only an alpha.  Give it time.

DF is hardly a god game. It's an RTS. God games usually have you controlling the landscapes, creating life or powers, etc. DF just has you controlling a city builder game with some fighting now and then.

Edit: After looking at the list, I can see that the guy doesn't really know what a 'god game' is...heh. What a horrid list.

Wait, spore at number one? I can understand arguing for Dwarf Fortress's inclusion even though it's an alpha because it's been released publicly, (though I would argue against including it at any place until it's released and we can give it number one status legitimately) but Spore is not available to the general public yet, only the creature editor.

Then again, maybe I ought to actually visit the site and see the criteria by which they're judging, before I judge them. I still think, though, that if you can put Spore in that list today, you ought to also put DF in it today. You might just as well use the world editor and rectangular construction designations as selling points, because they're about as visible to the general public as any feature of Spore.

It's kind of like people who insist on putting recent games at the top of the list of "best games of all time" just because they're new.

Now now. I think they put the newer games up there at first, and then looked up Wikipedia topic God Games and picked a few random entries there.

I think the guy just googled "God Games" and picked some at random.

Yeah, and? He has differing option from you. And while it may not be well informed, it's nothing to get angry over.

How can they put a game that isn't released yet on that list? Black & White was hyped up to be the greatest God game ever made, but it turned out to really boring and poorly tuned. Spore looks great, but we won't know until it's out.

Furthermore, I don't see how you can put The Sims on there instead of The Sims 2, which was a massive improvement over the original (they put other sequels on the list but not this one). The ability to breed them and create legacy families was huge for this game.

Lastly, Rollercoaster Tycoon is the greatest God game evarrrr!!!

Also, pretending that the guy only picked new games is pretty damn ridiculous.

MyLittlePonyBuiltMyHotRod, this is your first warning. I would like to direct you to read our forum's FAQ and posting guidelines before posting again. Specifically we don't use swear words here, and your picture of Stalin riding a Year3 Limited Edition Starflower inside a German concentration camp was both upsetting and historically inaccurate.
