Awesome Pocket World!
« on: June 28, 2008, 06:19:05 am »

So I used a seed some kindly guy posted on here for my bigly world, and later felt like making a little pocket place to play with using the same seed.

The results?

Sheer awesomeness.

[WORLD_GEN]
   [TITLE:POCKET]
   [SEED:2648211120]
   [DIM:17:17]

I made a beeline for the volcano, hovered over the vent and made an area 1 tile squared larger than usual, right on the edge.

Mirthful forest, heavily forested and with unicorns.
Massive volcano.
2 chasms- one circular and one rift-shaped, lined with gems and precious metals.
1 epic titan and nine pages of batmen, mole dogs, troglodytes and the like.
only nearby civ is dwarven. A downside for some but great for people like me that get sick of elves.
No rives, but an acquifer.
Warm climate.

*EDIT*  Make that 3 chasms, including one of those sort-of man-made looking ones with all the stairs and ramps in, and so far 2 magma vents- one massive volcano exposed on the surface and one shallow vent near my fortress.  This place is SMOTHERED in stuff.

I'll post pics once I figure out how!

Looks good, I'll probably test it once I get DF to work again.

True, but it does save you getting bothered by elves...

Sounds more like a cave to me.

Also, this location sounds very interesting. Thanks for sharing it!

Snooping around with the regional prospector tool this world has at least 4 really good locations that have a good combination of either magma, adamantine, a source of water in one way or another, and/or a cave/chasm. However, there's very little flux on the map. All in all this is a pretty good world.

Question: I am above the volcano. However:
- I have dwarves, goblins and elves as my neighbours.
- I am unaware as to which direction to expand the territory, as I do not have regional prospector or any other goodies.

Ummm... good question.  I just reloaded it and got the same.  All I know is, once I landed in the area I could only see dwarves as nearby civs.

Either way, I've got a print screen of the area I landed on.

Maybe Bunny originally didn't check the neighbors before embarking but he checked after.  Which would mean that until he met any of them he wouldn't know about them.

ah, I loaded it up myself. It's not a chasm at all, just a cave.  I had hoped to see something new.
