"Why do you want tunnels to just collapse? There is no reason for them to"

I gave two ways... and the second was you collapsing it yourself (probably with a Miner)

The reason why a Tunnel could just collapse on its own could be that it wasn't made to last.

Why not just build walls or supports if you don't want something to collapse and put walls in to cover up holes they dig?

Either way... I just wanted to put in a method in which people won't complain that "Diggers" ruin their base designs... Since I kinda regret not being in the community at the time the Antmen could dig into your base

Here is an idea... rebuild!

Kobold and Goblin tunnelers knocked a dent in your fortress? Clean it up. End of problem.

I'd be cool with tunneling monsters, just as soon as I could engrave constructed walls. Nothing worse than a resplendently engraved room interrupted by a swath of blank construction.

They could also try to dress up as elves and have lots of naked (ok, not necessarily) warriors hide in the wagon. If you like to keep your trade depot deep inside your fortress, then you're royally screwed.
"Ok, let's what crap yo- argh!"

Smart, but would not work on one of my forts. Our trade depot (pure silver, imported) lies situated a few layers below surface, in a featureless 7x7x2 (seven by seven tiles, two tiles tall) chamber. With a shooting gallery overlooking the depot from the second floor. In case of anything our marksdwarves can't take out within seconds. We can also seal the chamber completely and flood it. And if that doesn't work.. Well we're out of ideas. Nothing enters or leaves the fortress without the Administrator giving the OK.

And that's just the lobby!

Maybe I shouldn't be turning my fortress into one giant death-trap.

How about being able to destroy constructed walls? At least they cant destroy any base design that you cant just repair.

I bow to your massive paranoia.

If goblins get all these added abilities, I hope the dwarves get some too. I would especially like the ability to assign squads basic formations, thereby adding a little more strategy to melee combat. For instance:

Not all tactics would work in Dwarf Fortress

For example a "Square" Formation is entirely moot since Calvalry is limited and does not jump.

Circle Archer/Mounted-Archer Formation is moot because movement does not decrease accuracy

Scattered Formation is greatly weakened due to the high accuracy and damage of ranged weapons... You would probably want a line formation in Dwarf Fortress due to how arrows miss

However, a set of predefined formations doesn't sit well with the free form style of Dwarf Fortress. Then again, I'd be hard pressed to give you an example how military formations can be improvised through A.I. rules. Somehow, though, I imagine goblin forces assuming a formation much in the same way multi-tile creatures might be implemented.

And on an off topic note, upon reading the turtle and box formations I thought, "Wonderdwarf powers, activate! I assume the form of a giant box!"

Meh, you're probably right. I know little about battles and less about programming.

I'd be happy if I could get a military that would actually show up to battle, rather than 3/4 of them sleeping, drinking, partying, etc.
