Once my long sword got stuck in a bronze colossus and I just couldn't get it out. My plan? I took off my pants and bashed to sucker's head in.

I'm not sure how -random object- could do 'half the damage of a weapon', since different weapons do different amounts of damage.  I suppose there's probably just some default value for the damage of a non-weapon object, which is then affected by quality and material.
That, sir, wouldn't really be called an 'exact figure'. It would be more along the lines of 'random mass-guessing augmented by the whispers one heard amongst the static from a detuned radio.' So don't look too deep into it, please.

It's not that hard to figure out. The armor equivilant of damage appears to be either [MAINBLOCK] (for chest armor) and [BLOCKPOWER] (for everything else). It might not be the value used for determining damage, but it's the most likely.

The BLOCKPOWER of pants is 20. The DAMAGE of a short sword is 100.The damage% of any non-standard material weapon is 50% that of an Iron weapon.

From these values, one can calculate that, a pair of plant fiber pants will do approximately 1/10 the damage of an equal quality Iron weapon with 100 DAMAGE, such as a spear or short sword. This does NOT consider the experience level of the dwarf, or the damage type of the weapons. The latter is because I just don't know what type non-standard weapons are; it's probably BLUDGEON, but it could easily be PIERCE, because I've seen some things really tear up an enemy's insides.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.
