Actually, the Romans did something very similar with slaves who'd revolted: They lined the main road into Rome with thousands of crucified slaves to deter further uprisings.
Hmm, might be a fun use for caged goblins, but would you sacrifice two wood logs for that?

We should just be able to decorate items with skulls...  I mean, come on.  Would you rather have a gem-encrusted throne, or a skull-adorned throne?

In Diablo II, skulls are gems. Valuable gems, too.

Don't goblins already skewer miscellaneous corpses? I recall people complaining that they couldn't take down and use the pikes...
