Hello; learn from Star Wars, people.  Anything with legs can easily be taken down by a fighter that's not even remotely aerodynamic yet still flies, by a pack of small fur-covered dwarves holding a rope, two swinging logs, or a single person with a magnetic grappling hook and a grenade.

Let's just stick with the treads and nukes, for now, lest we repeat the mistakes from a long, long time ago...

;)

berent: I remember the NES, sure... never played Tecmo Super Bowl, though. I did play the John Madden games on Megadrive (Genesis in the States). On NES I tend to remember games like Metroid, Zelda, Bionic Commando, Blaster Master, Goonies II, etc.

Angus the goblin killer: Most of my friends love American football and I know plenty of people that play it here in Europe. I've played it in the States too and nobody wore protective gear. However, of course professional players do. NFL players suffer many serious injuries including concussions. Try getting out on the field with a bunch of guys who average 150kg (up to 170kg) and want to pummel you. Nobody would call you a sissy for not letting them practice their throwing / wrestling moves and splattering your brains all over the fortress walls.  ;)

Not to mention all of the exposed joints and moving parts, no matter how well armored will make it extremely vulnerable compared to a tank. It would also have a much higher profile and make it an easy target.

However this is just too damn cool.  :)
