What!!! Only the 24th greatest game of all time and the greatest football game everywhere and not that sissy futbol either FOOTBALL!!!!!

Hey! I think football was around long before american football...which is basicly a cowardly rip off of rugby! I mean you wear armor! now thats being sissy! Rugby is WAY tougher and better! I once got a stud in my leg while trying to tackel someone, when we played rugby at school! None of that wearing a chunky suit rubbish!

By the way, I do rember the NES, even though I wasn't around when it was out, it's still a ledgendry platform.

Wait, I'm confused do you mean THE 200 YEARS OLD FOOTBALL which is played in 199 countries and is the most popular sport in a huge majority of them or the american football which is played in one country.

TECMO also made a football (soccer for you) game, although it's quite funky because it's a roleplaying game and there's these weird special moves and such. Anyways we had it on our NES and it was slightly addicting, but nowhere as nearly as addicting as Dwarf fortress.
I haven't played Tecmo football, but I doubt it can reach DF. No other game  has the same unique feeling in it.

I think the main reason in DF that keeps me glued to it is the gameworld and the dwarfes who are more to you than numbers or tools to win. You care about them unlike in any other game. In Civ3 I can easilly murder murder millions of my own people if they're bugging me too much. In SimCity 4 I create my own sims to the city to only to be able to kill them in the most ridicilous ways possible. Of course every friendly unit in any FPS game gets killed if their AI bugs and causes me troubles.

No dwarf ever gets killed though if he did the most stupid thing ever and if it gets him in trouble I start thinking of ways to rescue him, unless it's a noble. I don't care for them.

I wonder if the NES could run Dwarf Fortress, or if the CD would get ruined when you put it in...

(It's okay, I'm showing my age, too.  It's not always a good thing.)

You wear padding to be more violent? Why don't you just play with tanks then? that way you can blow each other up.

NFL Europe? Well sorry to say that Football is played on every continent, which I think out ranks just 2 leagues on two continents.

And just to say that American football is played at our school in the UK...

...However, we don't use padding, which thus proves it's used because the American players don't want to get hurt.

I'd say Dwarf Fortress is more addictive unless Tecmo Football let's you hack off someones leg and beat them to death with it as they try to bite your ankles off.

I guess you could play american football with them, but I don't think they'd survive such hard game. Well best of luck to you Angus on building one that could play
