Do I need to download DF again from the site? According to DF section, the most recent version was the one released in February.

I believe that is what is meant, yes.  My understanding is the rocks are still there, we can just choose not to see them.  :)

This is a really welcome addition and I'm glad Toady took the time to drop it in.

It's one of those things I've heard clever developers refer to, where a reasonably small amount of work can have a disproportionately large beneficial result.

Plus he effectively managed to solve a few of the things regular players complain about with one single action, and even gave them more than one solution to suit their own particular needs/tastes.
