Incredible Woodcutter
« on: June 21, 2008, 03:06:33 pm »

I just had 3 Goblin ambushes in a row. I ordered everyone underground, but one dwarf, a woodcutter, stayed stubbornly where he was. One ambush caught up to him. Seeing no other choice, I drafted him. He was about to charge them when another ambush showed up, with yet another one right after it. You know what he did?

He cut them all to pieces. Every last one.

He gets a solid platinum tower for a tomb.

Dwarven luck + dwarven axe + dwarf skilled at using said axe + (optional) martial trance + goblin ambush + (optional) another goblin ambush = lots and lots of dead goblins.

How much skill did he get for killing 20-30 Goblins alone?

Hehe.. I just had a new recruit train up to Talented Wrestler by wrestling one (!) zombie groundhog.
He had placed it in a chokehold and was strangling it. (using DC).
Every now and then, he would pass out from being over-exerted. Then, the zombie would attack once, but never do any damage. This would wake up the recruit, who placed the zombie groundhog in a chokehold again.
It kept on going like this.
Eventually, I got bored, and sent an axedwarf to finish it.

I wonder now how far I could have gone. Possibly Champion status.

Toady should do something about the undead groundhogs. They seem completely unable to do any damage to a dwarf ( a new recruit, with no armor, military skills or boosted abilities)

Well, a groundhog is basically a rodent.  I doubt a rat could do massive damage to someone in a fight either.

Maybe they should just not try to choke zombified creatures...
