I haven't checked these forums since November, and I know how fast they move. What did I development-wise? What's the buzz? And new strategies? Any awesome new seeds? Any really awesome story threads? I was following Nist Akath: The Search for Warmth, but apparently, it was deleted, somewhat disappointing...I would catch up on this stuff myself but the sheer volume of stuff on this forum coupled with my awful netconn discourage this.

Fear not!  There's a brand-new list for community forts; Nist Akath was one of the first to move.  It is *still* going on.

Lots of minor things since you last checked, but generally we should probably just let you be surprised by the main difference.  Huge number of bug fixes.  Artifacts are no longer carried, because of various bugs with that.

Religions are in; roads are coming very soon now; you can look at dwarves' relationships, and they marry.

Actually, Nist Akath was not deleted. It's now over in the brand spankin' new community stories thread, and still going strong.

As for new story threads, there's a bit of a fad going around concerning pirate ship forts, including one community vessel.

No new seeds that I've heard of, but Toady has added a feature which allows us to alter the size of worlds, so many old seeds have taken on a new spin.

AlanL is also at it again with his truly astounding stories, which you should definitely check out.

Links? I remember some really awesome strategies regarding fort planning, and I'm pretty obsessive about this stuff.

I'm sorry to say, that while you were gone Toady passed away, which caused 1/3 of the forumsdwarves to go melancholy and another 1/3 to go bezerk. Those that went beserk killed half of the remaining sane dwarves. The remaining dwarves now hopelessly lurk the forums for another DF release.

That aside, I'm advertising the Battle of the Gods thread to you, BotG:Rp for short. Though the only reason it still fits in this forum is because I'm playing dwarves. Anyway, it's on the same page as this thread so I doubt you require a link.

Even if you dont want to play, it's still good for a read. Most people try to make their turns as storyetic as possible.

Edit: You may want to skip to page 6 too, unless you dont mind skimming through lots of jibber-jabber-stabber.

EDIT: I tried reading the bugfixes and changes, but my head began to spin after page 50, did Toady ever make the goblin sieges actually...siege again?
