Well, the UI tedium is gone, but dwarves still carry only one stone, which can be a problem, if you have several legendary miners working at 100% efficiency.

The solution to excess stone problems is to build as far up as you do down.

I guess they'll be busy for a while then, but eventually run out of jobs as your mining operation finishes.

Mining operation finishes?  These are dwarves we're talking about.  They stop digging when you pry the pick from their cold dead fingers.

You forgot to add "You damn dirty ape!"

In any case, whats with all this talk of excess stone? I only see massive piles of potential wonder. I'm currently building a 20 z-level tree out of schist with olivine and garnierite leaves.

The solution to that issue is to give us the ability to construct powered conveyor belts.

I am both confused and flattered.

I kinda feel like pack mules and rails would be more appropriate, but it's the same principle.

Do you know what they use in theatre for making flames appear out of nowhere? Ground up stone because it has a large surface area it burns easily. You could grind up stones with a stone grinder , which by the way would have to be powered, and then use it in a flame trap or you could make flame bombs for catapaults or dust bombs which block vision and can cause lunge disease and breathing problems which would slow the enemy.

You'd be better off with flower and wood sawdust: it's actually a flamable material and gets very very fine.

Huh? Stone doesn't burn at all.

Finely ground anything combustible will make huge fireballs, but stone is not in that category.

Well, some stone will.
Coal dust will certainly, as well as some calcium based stones, saltpeter, sulfur, and even a couple of metals. (Magnesium for example)

Coal is a weird exception due to it being compressed plant matter.

Sure it does. Anything burns, if the fire is hot enough. And no, I'm not talking about melting.
