Armok 0.03.50

Here.

The editors will crash your computer if misused.  They are easy to misuse, assuming it doesn't crash before you get there.

Oh my god...im getting mad!on the editors screen,i sometimes see strange text appearing and dissapearing! The text says things like "Worthless","Kill", and many other scary things...by the way,i use the faster screen(the one with the red-black background)and i think this text are VERY COOL!THEY ARE ARMOK-LIKE!But,at first, they scared me :-)

I also tried the editors...they are cool!

But i cannot manage to use weel the cladeogram and model editor...

The cladeogram editor will be useless until I actually use clades in the next release, so that won't matter yet.

Did you try loading one of the old model files?  That should help a bit.  Try human_upperbody or human_head (note that the head is upside down).

If you click on "Construction Mode" you can switch to the different modes...  click on the coordinates of a vertex to change it.  When assigning the vertices of a triangle remember that they must be in counterclockwise order from a person looking at the triangle...  you can click (right or left -- don't know which) on the model itself to rotate it...  if you go into texture mode, and make it show the default texture, then you'll be able to tell front from back and so on (front is gray, right is green, red is left).

Any other thoughts on the editors?  Things you would like changed or added?  I don't know when I'll get to it, but I can write things down.  The editors have the longest piece of horrible music yet -- over two minutes!  HA HA HA!

Why is it that goblins can slice through steel skin so easily?  How thick is the "depth?"  I tried setting it to 3 but 2 out of 2 times the goblin pierced my kidney with his sword.  I also tried leaving it at depth 0 and that didnt seem to work...

Also, are you going to reveal what that huge rant in the back ground says?  (Not the phrases, the big essay)

I never tested making body parts out of different materials, but you should always leave the skin depth at 0.  Set the underlying muscles deeper to make the skin thicker -- depth refers to the starting depth (0-15).

You also must make sure to change the depth of every muscle tissue on every body part, not just one, and make all of the skin tissues on each body part steel.  The editors are tedious that way.

If skin is at 0, muscle is around 9, and bone is at 15 or whatever, you should have plenty of protection.  Assuming it's not busted.

Do you appear gray?  Did that work?  Kurtulmak made a guy with an extra steel head...  that looked good.

The rants are just background noise.  I'm sure an industrious person could find a way to read them, if that person were to care...

I've updated the plan.  It looks like this release is also going to take some time, because it's full of new and interesting things...  hopefully I can get it out before my 2 week vacation in September.

Well, I haven't fiddled with it much, but it looks pretty spiffy. One thing: the quit button on the main menu doesn't seem to work, nor the window-close button thingy.

Somebody else is having that problem too.  What operating system are you on?

Does it lock up, or does the button just not work (i.e. can you play after you press it)?  Do the music and sound play during the game?

I meant for people that can't use the quit button -- does music play on their machines?  There could be a link, but only if it locks up when you press the quit button.

XP *home edition* music & sound didn't play
(old-ass-video Voodoo)

XP *professional* did play
(Maybe  good video-card)

Both the X button didn't work

Hmmm...  then I have no idea.  It's not as if the code for quitting is complicated or anything:

PostQuitMessage(0);

That hasn't changed for a very long time.  I don't know why it would be acting up now.
