I use the term "dwarfs" occasionally, but mostly because it's a verb. As in, "A Bronze Colossus dwarfs the catapult.".

I vote for dwarves.

Dwarfs is either a human whit dwarfism or a verb about size difference.
"Dorfs" is just an insult to the English language, similar to "lulz".

I thought 1944 took care of that.

This thread incites me to use "dorf" and "dorfs" more often...

1776 refers to the American Revolution, which actually began in 1775, the US Declaration of Independence was adopted in 1776.

1944 refers to the close of World War II which began (in Europe) in 1939.

According to the all knowing Wikipedia.

Edit: as to the debate, for fantasy I'll stick with Dwarves. But for everything else Dwarfs. After all, Red Dwarf is awesome.  :p

I agree with dwarves to refer to fantasy dwarves rather than real-life dwarfs.

Ah I see, I didnt know the Revoloution one and I was trying to figure out what we'd done in WW2 to screw over America, which was obviously looking at it from the wrong direction.

We made sure you could beat any argument with a German by saying "-Because you lost the bloody war!"

Well, there was that thing with Churchill (maybe) blowing up a U.S. ship to get them to move their asses over to Germany and help out.
