Okay, so we all know there have been debates on the subject here before.
Which is proper, Dwarfs or Dwarves?
Now, Firefox recognizes Dwarfs but not Dwarves.
Realize the only reason it recognizes Dwarfs is because of astronomy (who's ever heard of White Dwarfs?) and not that it's the proper term for this case.
I'll concede that the word Dwarves was coined by Tolkien at first.  But did he copyright it or anything?  No.  Dwarves have been used in many different stories and games.
In every case I've seen, they've been called Dwarves.
Even here:
   [NAME:dwarf:dwarves:dwarven]
Does this not mean Dwarves is the proper way?

"Dwarfs" is the correct term when referring to actual people afflicted with Achondroplasia Dwarfism.  "Dwarves" is the term used when referring to bearded alcohol drinkers in fantasy literature, at least after Tolkien introduced the word.  All fantasy Lit. before that time used "dwarfs".

I prefer "dwarves", but so long as it's not "dorfs" I'm cool with it.

Actually, Tolkien intended it to be "Dwarrows/Dwerrows" for plural, as seen in the name "Dwarrowdelf". "Dwarves" was invented as an intermediate so that readers could associate the singular and plural. Probably along the same line of logic as "staff/staves".

I really prefer "dwarves" in all occasions, because I follow that particular line of logic. "Dwarfs" is somewhat harder to pronounce. It's also a verb. I am unsure how I'd pronounce "wharf" in plural though...

Also, it's dwarves, period. It follows the same logic as loaf => loaves, (not loafs), hoof => hooves (not hoofs), etc. In all seriousness, "dwarfs" is an exception, not the rule, and should be considered incorrect English by now. But then those damn Brits would probably complain.

Personally, I would die before using the term "Dwarfs" over "Dwarves" [As a noun].

"Dwarves" rolls off the tongue like a warm, tingling liquor.
"Dwarfs" makes the speaker sound like a slightly retarded, hole-dwelling Man-Serpent hybrid.

At least, that's how I feel.
