With the creation of civs, and presumably the movement of people between cities along roads/tunnels, and the heros created, will we have visitors?   

A bunch of traders stopping in for an overnight stay (effecively what happens now...)?  Roving armed Dwarven patrols, appropriate to the civilisation, keeping the peace?  Outlaw bands breaking that peace?  Great adventurers stopping by requesting items/repair for cash?  Kings and royal court doing the rounds? Snobbish foreign Diplomats?  Mercenaries?

As the development occurs to fit into the world better, I see that an excitment-generating, sometimes annoying and possibly humorous and inclusion would be to have demanding, random visitors to our fortesses.   Some might just want a bed and food for the night, others might kill some map monsters/hunt specific megabeasts, help defend, equip to attack nearby Goblin outposts etc

If you decline the king, diplomats or adventurers there might be repercussions in terms of relations with merchants/civilisations etc Killing your own people/traders etc or geographic position would result in less visitors due to your fortresses shaky reputation.
