Dwarf Tweak non Vista?
« on: June 18, 2008, 04:39:05 am »

I can't get Tweak to run on my vista machine. I have Microsoft .Net framework 3.5 but Tweak crashes instantly on running. Any solutions?

Thanks!

As I recall 3.5 does not install 2.0, which is odd, yes, but probably the cause.

well someone needs to update the documentation for Tweak to tell everyone that they need to install .net 2 as well as 3.5

Yeah, .NET 1.1, 2.0 and 3.5 are all completely independent of each other.

Okay so I can only install version 3.5 on vista. IF Tweak requires earlier versions I can't run it. If this is the case could someone please make it only 3.5 dependant? and if it already is, why can't I run it?

The .NET frameworks are independent of each other? I thought getting 3.5 would solve all me "this application requires .NET to be installed" woes. Oh well.

I can install the other two .NET versions on Vista, but it still doesn't work...

I have 3.5 installed on Vista and Tweak works fine. Either 2.0 already comes with Vista or it got installed along with 3.5 (I'm pretty sure that's the case, I have 3.5 at work that I installed in a brand new computer with a fresh XP install and I can see 2.0 and 1.0 and 1.1-whatever on the add/remove programs.

I've got tweak running on Vista as well, and it seems to run perfectly fine.  All I remember doing was installing 3.5.  Though it wasn't necessary on my machine, do you have DF running in admin mode?  If so, you might have to run tweak in admin mode as well so it is 'authorized' to mess with DF.  Otherwise, though, I've got no idea.  If all else fails, you can try random compatibility modes, though that should not be necessary.
