Gah, sorry that I missed this thread for a few days, I thought the interest died out.

The reason I banned mounts was because I never pictured a dwarf on a horse and it would be unfair to fight orcs on mounts, but now that I think about it beetles should probably be acceptable. I'll change that.

We're around the guard post/tower/mountains mining our fortune in ingots. Once we get enough skill we'll start gaining gold through exceptional craft goods in order to get a bigger outpost, hopefully one with a tavern!

What timezones are you guys on? Maybe we're just missing you because of that. If anyone has msn I could contact you through that too.

Edit: I'm making a list of words to use as a dwarfish language, using the DF language .txt files. The problem is, they're mostly nouns and a few verbs. Nothing to say 'hello', 'goodbye', 'yes', 'no', 'come here', 'give me that' etc. Anyone got any suggestions?

Regards to Hybrid: That server is almost like playing DF in adventure mode, if it's not a random pker, it's a lich, or a mudpie...

Gonna try out nazirp grimmwold as Soulwynd put it. It's not like we can't just tell stories of old DF forts in the tavern, it would blow the unenlightened rpers away. Now the real issue my die is, this is my first time playing UO and it's kinda meeeh, maybe I'll fall in love with it later. I was partying in to world of MUDs in the UO days.

I'm still trying to figure out this grimmwold thing...

I'm in Hawaii time but have an erratic schedule.  I've got an animal handler and a carpenter / woodcutter.  I forgot to give the latter one a beard, but both of them are named Ioric, so it should be easy to recognize them.

The thing I don't like in Hybrid is VERY FAST stat gain.

I've reached statcap less then in a day. Wtf? I resemble old times, and it took me about 2months to gain a GM blacksmithing there...
Also it's overwhelmed with bad players.

Grimmworld is awesome, but it has too many custom features. It's harad to get used to after 5 years in standard ultima. But I like it.

Hmm, I might give Grimmwold a go.
Might be nice to get back to my role playing roots.

Anything you need more of, apart from able and willing dwarves?

I don't know, there're starting clothing + weapons + gear for newcommers and it's made much better than "a prize loot bag from the sky", if you join the city you'll be able to take food and some items from citie's stores, also the death is not that terrible. You basically "awaken" when you die and only after 3rd death in 20 minutes you lose your items, also there's insurance. So it's very good for roleplay-friendly or new players.

I will explore enviroment and spot new places and only then will be able to report some tasks.
Also I want to inform you that there's a new goblin race avaliable on servers, so we'll have guys to battle with.

Food.. I've had bad experiences with shards where you have to eat every ten minutes without fail and drink every five, or you drop dead on the spot.

Well, i'm currently leaning towards a warrior or a smith. Or maybe a warrior-smith.

I'll wait for you to scout though, as a little more direction would allow for some of us to pick more helpful roles.

I don't know shards with eating every ten minutes.

Anyway you can get some free food and water (thirst is here too) in your home city anytime.
And I'm 3 hours online now and still not hungry/thirsty. I think you may eat once per 24 hours and it's ok.

It was me. I'm just practicing an anatomy on a poor horse while being afk. If you spot me again, try to PM me here. I check forums more often than my char now =).

I tried to join Grimmwold first but I didn't know how to put on their custom patches.

You just stick them in the base UO directory, it seems.

Also, i'm Zon Angdurad on there.

I think a high priestess was trying to seduce meh tonight. I need to brush up on the rp speed, There was like, what? 20 odd people in one house for a ball. I had trouble keeping up. But for small groups I'm fine.

Btw, I'm a Miner/Blacksmith named Monom, residing in Briar Hollow, I spend most my afk time in the mountains S.E. of dwarf town.

You should've asked her if she wanted to touch your Rod of Lordly Might.
