*  Please disable images in signatures
*  If you aren't going to, then please limit them to 100 height or less.

Disabling signatures in my profile is no solution, because I just want to disable images in signatures.

Also, I really dislike the smilies, they have a white "aura" that was obviously meant so they would blend well with a white background. It's really annoying.
If you'd like, I can donate a pack of smilies I made myself, though most of them have the downside of being animated. (they blend perfectly with any background though.)
Example of one:
Pseudo edit: Apparently these forums aren't too fond of gifs. I can easily create static version if you want them.

But what do I know?
Everything I say should be taken with atleast 1 tsp. of salt, and another liter of Dwarven Wine is recommended.

Please don't disable images in signatures.

There's no need to, as they can be changed by admins, etc.

Anyway... Something I noticed.  I was looking at the dev_new.htm page and the "Forums" link sent me to the old forums...  Thought you should know, in case you didn't. :P

are the threads meant to be backwards? ie, new posts go on page one and the older posts end up staying on the last page?

Edit: Oh lordy I look like a right umpa lumpa (sp?) Just discovered in the profile settings you can change it so the recent posts aren't at the top. I was about to cry down the forum for confusing my simple mind!

Very minor and probably unfixable, but on everyone's profile, by the 'date registered' thing, the date is correct, but the time is 1:00 1:00 1:00 for everyone unless they registered after the change.

The forums are attending more and more dwarves =).
P.S. I didn't know we have such a nice online here. Old forum didn't have the option to view current online dwarves.

Let's raise a mug of Ale for forums' prosperity!

One problem related to the new forum, per se.
Although most pages in www.bay12games.com/dwarves link to the new forum, the manual and development pages do not, and still link to the old forum.

I don't suppose anybody knows why this forum takes two or three minutes to load for me, do they? The old ones loaded right off. I seem to have similar troubles with other SMF forums.

Strange, these forums actually seem snappier and faster for me. What software do you use? I'm on Firefox 2 and Windows Vista.

Meanwhile, another question:
does anybody know exactly how large these avatars are? Mine was 96×96 originally but seems distorted right now. If I knew the exact size I could resize it in Photoshop with much better filters. (I tried searching, to no avail.)

Firefox 2, Windows XP media center 2005. And the internal loading is quite fast; it's only that initial loading that takes forever, for some reason.

I'd almost suspect my internet provider of putting a crimp on it.  :-\

Does that for me, too. Don't know about other SMF forums.
My ISP is pretty crappy, so that might be it.

The forum software specifies in the HTML source that the avatars be displayed at 80x80. Quality of the reduced image depends on your browser.

It's probably worth mentioning that I'm using firefox on Ubuntu, though it does the same thing in XP Pro Service Pack 1.
