The one thing I really miss is the logo at the top linking to the main page.
Oh, and I like the WYSIWYG editor. Even if it is a bit buggy in my browser. (Sometimes the cursor leaves "ghosts")

Hey, that was fast.  Is this the final product already?  I thought it would take much longer than just the one day.

Hrmm...  I suppose I could get used to this...  Would be nice if certain colors and dimensions could be tweaked a bit so things look a bit more homey, but you work with what you get.


I think I'll refrain from getting an avatar, at least for the time being.  I might find something that I really like, but I'm still not entirely gung-ho on that particular scene.


Wow, this thing even has a warning for when someone else posts while you were typing a message...  THAT is an awesome feature.

Woot, new forums.  Took less time than I was expecting, so hurray for Toady.
I'm now going to need a better avatar, one that'd not annoy the "we don't like avatars" group without being a screen-cap of DF or just a character.  For now, the grumpy-ish looking one will do.  It has bunnies on it.

The one thing I loved dearly about the old forum was its very basic layout and lack and fancy and useless features.

This forum, you have avatars, signature pictures, bright white bold timestamp, eye burning main page, giant IP LOGGED crap, and things like the slidy letters that have NO USE except annoying messages and spam.... I guess I'll eventually get used to this, but still...forum downgrade

I do think we should get rid of the marquee thing and such, if that's at all possible.

And could we please allow the use of spoilers? They can be handy for large images and such.

What about no .GIF for avatars ? It's really boring. I know there's an option to turn off avatars, but I don't mind image avatars. Just .GIF. And also, as someone said, if the image at the top could link back to the main page of the forum, that'd be cool. Talking about the main page, it could use more contrast, it's too bright.
Apart from that, nice work.

At first I didn't like this forum upgrade, it lacked some things I liked about the old forum and added a lot unnecessary things I dislike about other forums.
But after a few minutes of looking around and changing my profile settings it's actually not that bad.

For those complaining about "eye burning" main pages:

Profile > Look and Layout > Current Theme: Darkling

You can also change whether or not you want to see avatars and signatures in the Look and Layout menu. That should please some of you people that can't get used to change!
