The seeds are in the stockpiles directly next to the food stockpiles. about 3-4 barrels of them with bags inside. There may also be the odd plant barrel (emergancy harvest detail :/) but that can be fixed with a simple stockpile designation.

Idea for a monumant: Make a sword directly next to the axe that I3rent made. Just as tall with the same scale. We can make a whole arsenal of weapons, just think of how awesome that would be  :D

I have a awesome idea but to make it i would need to do some HEAVY remodeling.

it Involves removing some of the cliff face, moving the road, serious mining, and tons of mechanisms. It would require about 100-200 blocks, size depending on time available. If I can find out how to make it I will proceed to begin and make updates. For now finding out how to make it and if it is even possible remains my priority.

Im enountering a very bad problem.
The formula is as goes: walls+30fps+idiotdwarves=pain. I do not know if i have the attention span required to run this fort. I have my computer running df in realtime and its still going slower than ever. The thought of giving the other 98% of my turn to the next person is quite appealing as of now. unless someone knowshow to make dwarfs to the right jobs and how to make rewalling much easier im going to have to abandon this monument.

Ack bail??? If you bail I will finish your turn.  Monuments r tough to do man, If your rig cant cope dont feel bad in passing, we will only make fun of you forever, just kidding.

I spent like 4 days of just walling to make that thing most of my time was spent paused....

30 FPS!!!! I would kill for that, my rig ran roariron at 5-6 fps so 30 is still workable IMHO.

Isn't Hollywars next on the list? If you havn't gotten far into your turn we could just advance to him.

Normally to make a building out of one material you place a stockpile for that material next to the build site. Sadly for some reason no dwarf in Roariron wants to haul anything so making my monument (size 500 or so blocks) is impossible since i cant get my masons to make the right kind of blocks. Is there a way to fix this?

Turn on item hauling for some dwarves. (Most of the dwarves do not have hauling enable in my forts, since I find it more effeciant to use ex-legendary engravers and siege operators to haul. Rather than using my useful/in-training dwarves.)

Aside from that, just select the material out of the list. It's not a huge pain (at least for me)

Remember, hauling has a low priority. Just above giving food and water to injured and trading/meeting with other dwarves.

so you disabled hauling on dwarfs??? why?!?!?! this makes projects like mine impossible   :(

Edit: and as another note its not like i can select it from the list. I first need to make blocks from only one material. Other than that re assigning 50 dwarfs worth of jobs is not fun.

Question: If you don't want to assign 50 dwarves worth of jobs, why have you signed up for this succession in the first place? If you're really that lazy, just don't make the monument you were planning. You could just pass on the blueprints to another person who's willing to expend the energy torwards creating it.

Hauling takes time away from more vital tasks for a fortress. Depending on how vital a particular dwarf is to my fortress they will have a an a number of hauling jobs removed (Nonvital dwarves, like maxed engravers and siege operators always have all hauling jobs on (well, except for now. Getting rid of 20k stone was sort of a priority for me), Maxed crafters have hauling jobs related to their field done. Masons/food production have no hauling designated. etc)

If you want to see a typical fortress of mine, I can send you my entry in the dwarven tourny (year 3/5) so you can look it over and see how I work.  :p It's a little extreme, since I'm going for maximum points, but still fairly typical of how I set up hauling jobs conpared to normal jobs in my forts.

I have decided to just not do the monument. Instead i will be doing another fort with Roarirons. Progress has been nil due to the monument problem. Now that It is solved i can begin to advance my turn and hopefully get a update today, maybe even a screen shot.

Someone should take over my turn. School is getting in the way of getting it done and im simply procrastinating to much. Sorry I had some good ideas for things to do but until the summer I doubt i will be able to do something that requires as much time as a succession game.

Hello, I3erent!
At last I've noticed you PM'ed me back! I'm too get used to basic pm-notification that I always keep forgetting about checking the profile here. It's like you're used to postmen bringing letters to your door and never bother to check the mailbox.
I'm still willing to join, though let me read the thread and look at the thing. I'll tell you when I'm ready, ok? May I join then?
