Ledger of the Captain of the Guard, 28th Obsidian, 1054
despite the clear example I made of Valcon and Lem, Oddom decided to test the judicial system of the fortress with an assault on the mayor. While I agree that some of the mandates and policies issued by the mayor are not wise, the way to change is through the vote, not through the fist. Oddom didn't get this, so I decided to make an even greater example of him then I did of Valcon or Lem. I believe this time the message was delivered that attacks on dwarves of the fortress, especially the mayor, are not tolerated.

Istrian has been added to the rolls of the Fortress Guard. I feel this is a great thing, since we are unable to patrol the halls with enough strength to prevent crimes from getting to the level where we have to punish with enough force that the dwarf is taken off his duties for several months.

OOC: How bad is Oddom's Spine? If it's just an injury he will eventually function. If it's broke, well, he will make a good candidate for contents of a coffin. Also, what is the fortress Guard Strength, as well as Cages/Chains? Naturally Vagúsholon is advocating for a strong jail with a cell hallway of 20 cells for every 50 people, 15% Fortress Guard Strength, rounded down but not counting Vagúsholon (that means 7+Vag right now at 53 pop) and plenty of wood for her Inashvagúsh. And did the entry hall of earlier get built or passed over? is the Jail acceptable or not acceptable? I'm getting curious about what the very fortress looks like, especially thinking about the grand hall
