Assuming you're not going for a Haunted locale, I'll take a Lady Dwarf named Skadi: 4 Spear, 4 Ambush, 2 Armor user, and a Spear; make sure to reassign her from crossbows to spear when you arrive.

If you *are* going for a Haunted Locale, then I'd like to take a Gentleman Dwarf named Bragi: 4 Bone Carver, 3 Stone Crafter, 3 Engraver.
Or, if you're strapped for fellows, a Lady Dwarf named Freyja: 4 Sword, 4 Shield, 2 Armour
I vote for any location that 'looks cool', something out of the ordinary.

Hence the varied choices, I like spear hunters but don't want to saddle you with a huntress who has nothing to hunt and a military weapon not suited to the local hostiles.

I'd vote for something in the tropics, probably a jungle of some sort, Explorers searching for the fountain of youth or something, getting stranded in the middle of the amazon and going from simple survival to grand fortressery.

Just a thought.

I want in too! If there is a dwarf with a standard name of Id, Lam, or Lolok, that is my dwarf! and you can give it the same name so it has the ''s around it. Otherwise, I want a dwarf that has something to do with Stones(Id, Lam, or Lolok) or Mechanisms(Bëmbul) in it's last name (Sex or attitude don't matter) and we'll go with a nickname of Vagúsholon (Killer Gear)

Skills:
5x Siege Engineering
3x Siege Operator
2x Wood Cutter

For Location, I vote... Seacoast, something salty with an Aquifer, and Evil to boot... Actual biome besides those are all good.

If we get the seed, we could vote a bit better...     ;)

(Edit: Name/Skills would be helpful eh?)

Do we get to vote for the name and purpose too?

(Edit: On seeing Lemnx, I decided to drop Mechanics and put two different skills in, to increase the chance that if I DO make a legendary artifact, it is Siege Weapon parts.

3 Mechanic
3 Wrestling
1 Mason
2 Armour
1 Intimidater

I vote for Lava wasteland!

I didn't bother with a seed, because I'm pretty sure my world layout can handle the top three votes. So if I get a vote of an Haunted Desert near the water. I'll take 2/3 of the options. So if there's a Haunted Desert, I go there. Anyhoo, keep voting. I'll be checking periodically. Also, I changed the requirement to One miner. If someone wants it, it's there. If someone wants to add another Miner and a Pick, I will do so.

Zarut.

5 Building designer.
3 Hammerdwarf.
2 Shield user.

Plus one dog (later to become a war dog assigned to me), 6 items of booze, a hammer (if it's not too expensive), and a single serving of dwarven syrup (again, if you can afford it).    If you can't get the syrup, bring a few sweet pod seeds.  The shield can come later.

I vote for  Mountain, lava, evil, and forest (not jungle).  Preference in that order.

I think there's a spot left,

I can be the brave miner if nobody else has filled the spot,

but be warned, I love collapses!

Valcon,

Couple mining skills and 1 point in comedian.  What's funnier than a madman with a pickaxe?

Never done this so bear with me heh  :).

Name:  Jorhind
Proffession: Ranger
Skills: 2 Speardwarf
       1 swimmer
       1 Animal Trainer
       1 Trapper
       1 Ambusher
       2 Miner
       1 Armor User

Items to bring:

2 cows
1 hunting dog (assigned to him...make this a war dog if you like)
1 steel spear
1 set of cheap leather armor (mountain goat)
1 copper pick (for his use)

Jorhind is an unusual dwarf, born to a pair of mining dwarves, he grew up learning their trade.  However he overtime he found he loved the outdoors and would always prefer to be there.  Especially in the companion of his animals.  he has taken the time to get himself a breeding pair of cows..and a good dog as a companion.  He will never kill the two cows, having come to appreciate their company, however, their young can be fair game as he understands the needs of the fort as a whole.

Make sure his room can somehow see the sky, or is built out of wood and is aboveground (with a patio to go outside on).  Turn on animal caretaking, plant gathering, and farming for him.  He will mine if it is required of him...having learned to do so at a decent pace from childhoood.  Once there are enough dwarves to handle it, turn off his hauling jobs so he can focus on his enjoyed outdoors activities.  Also if another miner imigrates, turn off mining for him, andonly turn it on if you need extra miners, but whenever you need less miners, turn his off first..

If you decide to train marksdwarf, he will gladly take up in learning that.

Try to gather boozemaking plants from aboveground if any exist, and start a farmplot to grow them.  He's going to wind up being an odd spactic dwarf..but I figure it'll be interesting.

As for location.
Anywhere with animals (even if aggressive ones that he just hunts down for food)
Evil
Wooded
Haunted

I daresay you've given me an idea, Ortnev old chum.  For that, I will gladly give up my spot among the starting seven so you can be there first.

Now if you'll excuse me, I've gotta go do something...

Just FYI, I edited my skills a bit (Lim has Mechanics covered.)
I want my Siege Engineering maxed, and Siege Operating one above the next lowest skill, though edit the rest of my skills as needed(Woodchopping is only there because it looks like we will need it pretty badly, but if something more important is needed, place that instead, or drop siege operating one level, woodchopping one level, and add two other skills that are needed.)

I want to get a siege weapon up quickly, and then I want to practice on it. I'd prefer to make and sell parts as a trade good until I am very skilled at it, but Standing at a training weapon and training my more practical skill works when we can't spare the materials. After all, why else go on a long voyage to someplace else except to become a famous siege weapon maker? And if I build them, I must certainly know how to operate them! I want to keep my Siege Engineering higher then any other skill, so I expect to quickly become the fortress hauler when we are low on wood. Though if I am responsible for chopping wood, I can't really argue, since the fortress needs wood so I can build the siege weapons, still, I want to try to keep my siege engineering on top.

I'd like a miner, please. Make him a proficient miner and a proficient stonecrafter and bring an extra pick. Name him Kay. Also I vote for an evil jungle.

Tallying up votes, and checking/rechecking to see who is going now and who will (hopefully) be amongst the first immigrant wave. Thanks for participating so far!
