Parrot you get one of the new military dwarves. Although it will be a while before you can go out and fight anything since we need rock blocks and you haven't begun your training. Here is your personality:

You have no friends and your deity takes the form of a female dwarf and is associated with hospitality.

13th Hematite
A human caravan has been sighted to the south west. Apparently the Kentauri decided to tell them about this place. Lets hope we have enough trade goods to sell.

17th Hematite
The Kentauri Caravan is back. Lets see what they have to offer.

13th Malachite
The humans are leaving but promise to come back next year. We managed to buy all of their food, leather and metal bars.

22nd Malachite
The Kentauri have left promising to return in the Fall.

11th Galena
We have finished building the outwall. Soon we will start on building a proper town here.

27th Galena
Omath is possessed. He was running around babbling about something in a strange language then claimed a masons workshop. He has collected one chunk of granite, 2 of limestone and some turtle bones.

3rd Limestone
Omath has produced Necikulab Etnarrerith, and Granite Cabinet. It is encrusted with bands of Limstone and Granite. Menaces with spikes of Turtle bone and there is an image of a twisted candle on it.

...cabinet?

quote:

With a cry of pain, numbness shot down his arm, and he dropped his axe.

It wasn't his only weapon however, and he pulled an item from his back.
It was Kal Berim, the artifact gabbro cabinet he had carried with him for all these years.

Omath's Journal 1st Granite

Omath finds it odd that we have arrived at the exact beginning of the new year, as the others began labouring, Omath begins to sketch plans for the fortress, but catches Omath quickly.

"No, Omath, Omath came here to work, Omath's book told Omath to."

Omath hussles off to unload the wagon and aid Omath's chums.

ADDENDUM: Omath was apparantly elected expedition leader, fate toys with Omath.

SUPREME COMMANDER Omath's Journal 10th Granite

Jubilation, our exploratory mining shaft has found only simple rocks, Omath shall have time to read up on more advances materials while we exhaust these we have found. In less pleasant news, our carpenter Loddum, went on a hunting excursion, he succeeded, which is good, but left his kill on top of Omath's journal, which is bad. Omath dislikes the idea of finding corpses on Omaths journal every morning, so Omath has ordered Loddum to construct the bedrooms, and a carpenter's workshop, to keep him busy.

SUPREME COMMANDER Omath's journal, 1st Slate
Loddum still finds time to hunt even while carpen- woodwor- making stuff, aswell as butchering what he does kill. Omath has decided to give him a stern talking to regarding leaving corpses, or anything on Omath's possessions.

Omath recently crafted a large amount of ammunition out of our surplus bones. Unlike Omath's crafts, which are meant to be pointy and hurt, Loddums beds are covered in splinters of the most unholy kind, and Omath would sooner sleep on the floor.

In other news, a massive greenhouse is being constructed.

SUPREME COMMANDER Omath's journal, 1st Hematite

The first two floors of the greenhouse are completed and plants are being grown. To celebrate, Omath has tooken it upon Omath's self to learn the names of every other dwarf working here. As Omath only knows Loddums name, and Omath's. Without a proper bed, Omath has been unable to sleep, and thus has subconciously drifted back into drawing diagrams and graphs. Omath awoke this morning to find a complex map, with the various buroughs being colour coded. Omath is unable to make out many other details, because Omath had scribbled the words "Necikulab Etnarrerith" over and over on the parper the previous night.

SUPREME COMMANDER Necikulab Etnarrerith's journal, 1st Malachite

Lawrence, Kira, Kjartan, Istrian, Omath, Loddum, Rostov, Necikulab Etnarrerith

Must remember.... whats that last one doing there?

Omath has decided updating once per month is the most efficient option A defensive system is being build around the area, Lawrence says we've found some emeralds, but hasn't dug them out. Omath wasn't paying much attention when Lawrence explained why. Omath has finially settled into something that feels like real work, down below granite is constantly being mined out and shipped up to Omath, where Omath molds it into blocks. Omath showed the others Omath's diagram today, and explained the colour-coding idea. They seem to approve.

SUPREME COMMANDER Omath's Necikulab Etnarrerith 1st Limestone

Omath has noticed that Loddum's carpentry has ceased sucking recently, namely that Omath can drink from Loddum's mugs, and get more booze than blood. The wall construction is mooving along swimmingly, the greenhouse however, has been delayed indefinitly, Omath has avoided the details to prevent Omath from accidently formulating a solution. Rostov took it upon himself to craft ammunition from the bones, Omath sent him on his way and assured Rostov that Omath would be fully capable of producing all the munitions Rostov could need.

SUPREME COMMANDER Omath's Journal, 12th Limestone

Omath spotted the caravan on its merry way to deliver us goods, Omath assumed everyone else had noticed and began carrying goods to the depot.

They had not.

Omath was in the middle of a conversation with Loddum, when a heated arguement broke out between Loddum and Rostov over hunting rights, the arguement climaxed in Rostov aiming his weapon at Loddum. Omath always takes implied threats very seriously, and quickly acting to breakt the fight up, told both Rostov and Loddum to go deliver goods to the depot. Go Omath!

SUPREME COMMANDER Omath's journal, 1st Standstone
Curse Omath's having to update more than once a month! Two thieves appeared, but were both struck down. and trading was successful.

SUPREME COMMANDER Omath's journal, 1st Timber
Another thief got killed, caravan left

SUPREME COMMANDER Omath's journal 1st Moonstone
Some migrants arrived not to long ago, actually, a LOT of migrants arrived. More food to cook, more drinks to brew, and less bones to carve. Jubilation.

SUPREME COMMANDER Omath's journal, 1.05th Moonstone
RAGE!
WHY DID NOONE TELL OMATH WE HAVE MAGMA?!?!

SUPREME COMMANDER Omath's journal, 1st Opal

The magma is now being fully utilized, thanks to Omath's guidance, yet a single day earlier that Omath learned of it would be a single day earlier it was completed. More malachite found.

SUPREME COMMANDER Omath's journal, 1st Obsidian

Absolutely nothing happened during Opal, with the exception of Omath's obsession with Necikulab Etnarrerith constantly growing.

SUPREME COMMAND Omath's journal, 1st Granite

Various previously mentioned construction projects have been worked on, miners struck Galena.
Omath is bored

SUPREME COMMANDER Omath's journal, 16th Granite.

HORSEMEN ARE INVADING! SOUND THE ALARMS!!!!!

SUPREME FOOL Omath's journal, 1st Slate

Shouting the above entry, for all to hear, Omath is now quite the laughing stock in Steelbow. The Cen- Kenta- Horse-men were traders, who sold us multiple neccesseties, aswell as a much needed anvil.

SUPREME COMMANDER Omath's journal 1st Hematite

Various migrants arrived not long ago, Omath has decided to atleast learn a few of their names, social interaction is a must!

One particularly odd fellow named Rith, while Omath was carrying down a metal bar to be used by the metalworker Rith ambushed Omath, wrestled the bar from Omath's hands, and rushed off. Omath later found the bar, and a few others were used in the construction of a legendary trumpet. Necikulab Etnarrerith Necikulab Etnarrerith it pounds in my head faster and faster, to the point that it now pains Omath...

SUPREME COMMAND Omath's journal 1st Galena

Humans and Horse-folk arrived, traded, and left. Omath remembered not to sound the alarm this time.

Omath, 27th Galena
Necikulab Etnarrerith, Necikulab Etnarrerith, Necikulab Etnarrerith,
Necikulab Etnarrerith, Necikulab Etnarrerith, Necikulab Etnarrerith,
Necikulab Etnarrerith, Necikulab Etnarrerith, Necikulab Etnarrerith...

SUPREME COMMANDER Omath's delayed journal, 3rd Limestone.

Necikulab Etnarrerith, a cabinet! Omath's hands moved on Omath's own, devoid of knowledge from silly books. The outer wall was finished a while back, but thats not important right now.

Books and letters mean much less to Omath now, Omath has begun to think hard about joining the military, and will make Omath's decision if/when Omath's term as SUPREME COMMANDER ends.

(This took forever to write, and Omath is tired, if anyone spots a spot where I typed "I", "me", or some other such, let me know.

10th Limestone
The dwarven caravan has arrived. Only 2 wagons. We need to start hauling stuff to trade.

11th Limestone
Finally the exploratory mining has payed off. We have struck magnetite. In total we have struck 4 viens of malachite, 2 clusters of bauxite, 2 kaolinite and 3 of jet. Finally we will have iron to make steel out of. The smiths should be happy.

Great. I play three days then real life interferes. Five hour walk later my feet hurt and I'm finally back.

14th Limestone
The Kentauri return once more. As well work on the first structure has begun.

15th Limestone
GOBLINS! Loddum was fetching some wood to make bins out of when he ran headlong into a goblin ambush. Then while running from them he found another group. Though I must admire his bravery as he regaled the story. He knew that he didn't have a weapon and didn't stand a chance fighting them with a stack of logs so he ran towards the kentauri caravan. He managed to distract them long enough for the Kentauri crossbowmen to take them down. In total we have counted 10 axemen, one swordman and a pikeman, all dead.
Because of this Rostov will be standing at the entrance with a set of serratote until we can get some traps set up.

Loddum's Log, 15th of Limestone.
Dratted blasted goblins. I was out, spending some time alone, supposedly 'collecting' wood when a group of them show up, no doubt paid off by that Rostov to eliminate her competition!
I didn't have anything to fight them off, and remembered the Kentauri were visiting. I lead the goblins over to them, encountering a second group that was trying to pincer me. The Kentauri turned them into pincushions. I am going to ask with greater effort for a mace after this! I do hope that Rostov encounters his own hired goblins up there and gets killed. Teach her a lesson!

3rd Sandstone
I haven't seen Parrot for a few days. The last I saw him he was talking to Istria and Omath and seemed rather excited. They then hauled 4 large, things, down the stairs and put them on the lowermost level. I wonder what they're up to.

4th Sandstone
I asked Omath what they had taken downstairs and he told me it was a secret and that no one was to go down there unless explicitly told to. Whatever they are they seem important and secret.

8th Sandstone
The Dwarven caravan has left. From them we purchased their food, a tower shield to help our military and four large objects. I still don't know what they were but looking over the records they seem to be worth a small fortune. Over 20,000 in food and goblin supplies were spent to get them. What ever they are they must be important.

16th Sandstone
The Kentauri caravan has left. They should return in the spring.

28th Opal
Kogsak has been struck with a mood and has claimed a masons workshop. She is using the two pieces of limestone and one piece of orthoclase that was already in there. I wonder if she plans to make me anything? She has refused to talk to anyone.

4th Obsidian
Kogsak has finished her work. She has made an orthoclase weapon rack. It is encrusted with orthoclase and encircled with bands of limestone. It also menaces with spikes of limestone. She has named it Nazomrazes, The Dreamy Hairs. Surely it is refering to me.

26th Obsidian
WHAT THE FUCK?!
Omath called everyone to meet in the new building. He then locked the door once everyone including himself and Istria were in. The only one who wasn't there was Parrot. No one worried since the stairs to the second floor were still open and from there we could easily escape. Then we heard Parrot coming down the stairs.
We thought it was going to be a celebration for having lasted this long since the new year was right around the corner.

Then we saw what was following Parrot.
...
FOUR FUCKING GIANT SPIDERS!

Have you ever seen 30 some dwarves in a small room where the only exit is blocked by giant spiders. No? That's because in most cases the spiders kill everyone. Have you ever seen 30 some dwarves try to fit through a key hole in a door. No? That is probably because they don't fit.
Rostov tried to shoot at them with his bembularros but the seratote jst bounced off the armor. Wait, didn't I mention that? They were covered in pieces of the goblins armor. So we were stuck in a small room where the only escape was through 4 armored giant spiders. And leading them was Parrot, Laughing his ass off.

By the time every one had calmed down Rostov and Loddum had already climbed through the unfinished roof and were heading to get more weapons.
Omath then tried to explain that these spiders were tamed. They had been purchased off the caravan in the fall to help with defense and Parrot had spent all winter training them. They would be used to defend the fort from any further attacks.

Personally I think they're insane. Giving some of the most powerful creatures we have ever met armor and training them to be even more deadly is not smart.

Orässethal! Parrot had trained them... It was worth the scare they gave by seeing Rostov attempt to hurt one and be completly ineffective. That will show that fool how good his 'Hunting' is.

14th Granite
The Kentauri have returned yet again.

17th Granite
A Kobold Thief was spotted. Rostov took it down.

18th Granite
Another Thief. This one Rostov took out with a single seratote. Cut it clean in half.

19th Granite
A third Thief. This one had its legs cut off. Then one of its arms cut off before bleeding to death.

20th Granite
Rostov saw something in one of the new weapon traps and went to investigate. Another goblin ambush. Rostov took them down quickly. The last one got away because Rostov ran out of ammo. We can add another 3 hammermen to the list of kills.

27th Granite
We have hit malachite again. I was beginning to worry there was no more ore here.

9th Slate
Migrants have arrived. 1 Soap Maker, 1 Dyer, 1 Ranger, 1 Fish Cleaner, 1 Engineer, 1 Mechanic, 1 Farmer, 1 fishery worker, 1 animal dissector, 4 peasant, 2 children, a cheesemaker, 1 stone worker.
This has brought us up to 51 dwarves. Also Omath has been elected the first Mayor of Steelbow.

13th Slate
The Kentauri have left. With them they took some more stuff from the goblins.

Here you go:

Your Husband is a skill less hauler. Your god takes the form of a Female Dwarf and is associated with fire and metal.

Sorry but this was the best dwarf personality wise. The rest worshiped gods of nature and the sun. Also you're a metalcrafter/Furnace operator. But that will change soon since we have enough copper to efficiently distribute DC electricity around the fort.

26th Slate
Omath has demanded the production of 3 animal traps.

8th Felsite
Loddum has really improved on his carpentry work while he was here. He really seems to enjoy how good he is doing. Just yesterday he was laughing about how easy it is to create masterpieces out of this crappy wood now.*
*Loddum has created his first masterpiece bed.

11th Hematite
The Kentauri are back again.

15th Hematite
The Humans have arrived. The liaison ran into a kobold, became so scared he ran around until he tripped and fell on another kobold and killed it.

22nd Hematite
Istria has been elected mayor.

12th Malachite
The caravans have left.

22nd Malachite
The child Kivish Thadmuthkat has been struck with a fey mood. She immediatly claimed a crafters workshop. She collected 2 sets of logs and some rock blocks and is now screaming for silk cloth. Lets us hope we can find a way to get some before she loses her sanity.

4th Galena
What a wonderful day, Akroma our new weaponsmith has given birth to a little girl. She is the first child to be born at Steelbow.

10th Galena
For every up there is a down. Parrot just got his ass handed to him by a wild boar. We were trying to get one of nthe war spiders to spray web at a boar so we could collect but it refused and the boar ran down a mining shaft. Parrot volunteered to go get it since all of the trained animals follow him and was attacked. Also Istria is throwing a tantrum. Somehting about having banned the export of bags and boxes and the caravans were each carrying a lot of bags.

11th Galena
Kogsak and I went down into the mines and took down the Boar without any trouble. Although now we need to figure out what we are going to do about the lack of silk.

SUPREME COMMANDER Omath's various news and notes, 1st Hematite

Due to the lack of important happenings, Omath has decided to compress his entries into even more distant intervals. It bothers Omath the Omath no longer considers vicious goblin attacks and caravans from faraway lands arriving as "important", Omath has decided not to think about it.

The Kentuari are here so often they mightaswell live here and only leave for short periods of time to trade with others...

Watching wave after wave of kobold thieves get slaughtered by our traps (do they ever learn?) Omath had a brillint idea! Build some portable traps for catching animals aggressivly instead of passivly, animals could be worth a small fortune! Omath did not bother to think about the matter any further, and quickly signed the form initiating the project.

Completly Regular Omath's abrupt entry, 23rd Hematite

Armok help us.
Omath did nothing wrong for my term, and led us from a hadful of dwarves in the middle of nowhere to a thriving community-in-the-works.

They had the AUDACITY to replace OMATH with a pompous oaf! Istrian of all people!
Riana, Rith, ONE OF THE GOD DAMN WAR SPIDERS Omath would be fine with, but Istrian?

Omath must show Omath's now-equals the error of their ways, although directly challenging Omath's successor for power could be a huge mistake, Omath must be discreet, cautious.

Completly Regular Omath's journal 10th Galena

Jubilation! That fool Istrian is running around screaming at anyone dumb enough to get close! Not only could Istrian be removed from office, but imprisoned! or even kil-

By Armok... did Omath just hope for one of my friends to be killed? Akroma gave birth to a girl, and a child has been possessed in manner similar to Omath's possession. Thats enough writing now, Omath needs to be alone with Omath's thoughts.

Istria's diary

For some reason I cannot comprehend, I have been recently elected mayor. Since then I've been wondering what I are my duties as mayor. I guess it's I'll ask Omath since he's been our leader for as long as I can remember.

I stand corrected : I should not ask Omath for advice. He's been sulking since the election. I have also just noticed that he's half-crazy and always muttering strange things to himself. When I asked him to show me the records of the previous years activity and the current outstanding orders, he just laughed. I really wonder how people can be so disorganised. It's a wonder we managed to survive that long.

I think I should get to know the other dwarves better as I've been spending most of my time chopping trees and preparing the first chapter of the Chronicles I'm going to show my fellow colleagues back at the Royal Library.

Now that I think of it, maybe I should order a library constructed here ? I can do that since I'm now the boss around here.

13th Galena
Istria has been running around getting into fights with people lately. So far she has beat up the same tunnel worm twice and hit a recruit with a barrel then kicked  her in the throat. We have decided to set up a jail.

14th Galena
The recruit Urvad has died from her injuries. Istria has to be stopped. We are joining to go talk to her now.

15th Galena
We dragged Istria to a cage we had built in the weight lifting room. She didn't want to go but between Rostov, Kogsak and I we were able to drag her along.

2nd Limestone
Well Istria has finally lost it. She has gone completely nuts.

We will be meeting to decide on a new mayor soon. Unfortunately no one has any skills with appraisal.

10th Limestone
The child Kivish Thadmuthkat has finally snapped. We were unable to produce any type of silk cloth. Furtunatly we had prepared for this. She is now residing in one of our cages. Perhaps we may eventually find a way to make her sane again.

12th Limestone
The Kentauri have returned yet again. Don't they have homes?
At least they took out a thief on the way.
Anyway they are up to 8 wagons. Mosus has agreed to trade with them.
16th Limestone
The dwarven caravan has also arrived.

18th Limestone
Rostov has been chosen as the temporary mayor.

19th Limestone
Well Omath is in deep shit now. Apparently last year he asked the dwarven caravan to bring as many gems as they possibly could. They brought nearly 75,000 worth of gems. He is currently hiding.

1st Sandstone
Rostov has let his position get to his head already. He has begun demanding the production of electrum. Fortunately we purchased some awhile back.

3rd Sandstone
Some of the dwarves are still trying to make Istria sane.

I don't think it will work.

10th Sandstone
Well somehow Omath managed to buy quite a few of the gems. As well as 4 more spiders. I think the traders got the better deal.

11th Sandstone
The Kentauri have left. Promising to return in the spring. Seriously, don't they have homes.

15th Sandstone
The dwarven caravan has left. I still don't know how Omath bought so much from them.

Anyway, we need a new leader. And Istrian, if you want a new dwarf just ask.
