Arrrrrrrrgh! Sandy clay loam, why must you mock me so?! All I want is a fully engraved temple to Armok! But noooo, the loam is everywhere! Sigh... I guess I'll keep searching.

Well, I suppose I should introduce this log. I bought it to document the project, but forgot about it until now. Everything that has happened up to now includes:

• Flooding of potential fortress via thawing at just the right time
  
• Sighting of a skeletal giant eagle
  
• Discovery of a magma vent
  
• Attack by a skeletal giant eagle, and its spontaneous combustion
  
• Clearing of the magma vent and preparations for magma workshops
  
• Beginnings of a farm
  

Well, that's about it. I'm stuck here with 8, 9 before the eagle attack, dwarves who I don't even know the names of.
