So, are you going to pass off the unfinished year, and I'll play it and the next one?

The nemesis unit failed to load error, means that a unit file is missing from the region folder, so uploading the unfinished save is probably pointless. The only real option that seems to be left is to revert to the save from the end of year 1 and hope that that's from before the missing unit file disappeared.

Granite
The last leader of this fortress came up to me this morning and told me he was resigning. He told me I was the new 'curator' of the fortress... then he told me it was a museum, not a fortress. Never heard of it. Well, I'll do my best. Let's see what a legendary miner can do for this place.

Slate
I had a strange compulsion to go down in the inner depths of the stairwell and... ADAMANTINE?! The old... curator... never told anyone about any adamantine! Oooh... and the magma smelters just got online...
...

Hematite
A human guild representative arrived, and promptly triggered an ambush. Well, crap. Apparently adamantine brings your fortress wealth up to the point where goblins take an interest.

Malachite
I've started a small squad of recruits. I'll bring up a barracks real quick for them to spar in.

Limestone
My tomb is almost finish, and a fine one it is! All I have yet to do is add a door.
The barracks is all cleared out, and the wrestlers are sparring in there.
Bah! I forgot to lower the drawbridge after catapulting a corpse off! A bunch of dwarves were stuck starving outside. Now they're all unhappy. Crap.

Obsidian
My tomb is done. My army of wrestlers is trained, soon they will be elite. When that happens, iron weapons must be made and they must be trained in them. I ordered iron and steel bars, so make armor and weapons from them. Apparently I am the first to add an exhibit... my electrum statue will make a good gift to the museum. I am almost sad I cannot continue to lead this fortress, but here is some advice from me:

Human traders

Dwarven traders

Meat is a bit low, but I have the trapper hunting so it should replenish itself. I have the stills making brew but they might run out of barrels so keep them going. The traders will bring lots of meat for supplies. You might also want to add some more bedrooms, there's currently 59 people and like 10 sleep in the barracks. Speaking of which, when they become Elite Wrestlers, take 5 and make a speardwarf squad, and take another 5 and make a swordsdwarf squad, then take the remaining and train him as a marksdwarf.

The previous museum was a veritable steel foundry...  Magnetite + chalk + magma pipe = a very beautiful thing.

In case you were curious about that empty room you turned into a barracks, I'd planned to put a siege workshop and kennels in there, as part of the whole "build everything later curators might need" plan.  It's just the right size for two 5x5 workshops.  Works just as well as a barracks, of course.

Out of curiousity, why does it look like the trade depot was de-constructed?

Unofficial Status Report.

In the digging of the Tombs we Struck Adamintine! It must be the same vein. But sadly I will cancel the tombs so none will be potentialy wasted.

Our miners are fixing up to tombs, cooking the Booze and making the Archary Ranger. Our bowyers are churning out masterwork x-bows and bolt.

I hope I will be next.

This ends unofficial Status report of Granite. No Pics EVER.

I take that back... SNATCHER! GET the Kitchen ready for Gobling Roasts! (:joke    :)

it swered itself on the newest Copper Spear Wepon Trap.

Our electrum Depot was rebuilt.

Exporting Plants to the elves.

WE ARE MELTING BABY!

AN AMBUSH! CURSE THEM!

Boksi, it's your go.

Also, I just noticed the stockpiles are COMPLETELY covered in rocks! What the hell were you thinking, Thasero?

Uhh... mainly, that rocks don't hurt anything, and you can move them any time you want to if you need more space in the stockpile.  Stones do keep dwarves from using all the spaces in the wood or furniture stockpiles, but you won't need that much space until you have enough dwarves that dumping the stone is easy.

Meh. There's a bunch of immigrants coming, they'll rocket your pop to 80. Be careful, my wrestlers are good but they can't handle a siege.
