Just use the chasm to get rid of anything sub-masterpiece.

Wait, I think that sub-masterpices can be traded for something weird like overdecorated elven wooden swords. Hm... while we're at it: how about some masterwork elven skull totems?

that drained the water right to the surface and let it flow off-map. The only problem was the powering - water-wheel system that relied upon the drained water itself to create enough power failed compleatly, so I had to use the power of wind.
In 38a I'm having some troubles with the water, though.

Hmm.  Did you dump the water back into the river, or just flow it out over some bare terrain?  I'm a bit leery about just letting it slide off on open ground, for fear it might spread back and cause problems.

For waterfalls and the like, if I don't have a chasm, I'd rather just have an isolated pump and fall setup.  I don't think water actually gets converted into mist, so refilling shouldn't be that much of a problem.  Bucket brigade to the rescue!

Hmm.  Just thought of something.  Dwarven fire department, in charge of extinguishing fiery mittens with buckets of water.

Anyways, back on track, should we pick up stuff like overdecorated Elven wood swords?  They're harder to keep track of, but it's an exotic item and might be interesting to find somewhere.  Pity we can't assign items to chests or the like, we could've made display cases (clear glass coffers with impressive items inside, anyone?).

Just make little 1x1 rooms and make a sword stockpile in there. As long as you didnt make any swords yourself it should be fine

-edit- oh and close the room off with a glass window er somthing.

That'll only work while it's still in fort mode, but what about adventurers?  Regardless of how sealed off an item is, it's still going ot get shuffled about after your dwarves leave.

If it looks good in adventure mode, it's good enough for me. Besides, statues and engravings don't move.

I was wondering about the same thing...  When is this getting off the ground?

First time I enter into a community fort, my dwarf is sacrificed by a legendary zombie mayor swordfighter.    First time I enter a succession fort, nothing happens.  This is starting to develop an unhealthy trend...

I also seem to recall that you presided over the zombie mayor fort as well, Squeegy...  Hmm...

Well, if Kagus won't mind, I'd like to start the damned thing. Do I generate map as well, or will you, Squeegy, put it somewhere downloadable?

Neither dean nor Torak seem to be responding, so... strike the earth!

..Or not. Apparently sitting open for days is bad for a Dwarf Fortress game. It just crashed. Fuck. Kagus, go generate.

If Kagus isn't there either, then you can generate, Alaern.
