Move me up to 3rd position as I like working with less dwarves. Thanks

I'll take sixth, where the carnage will really begin.

I'll take number eight, just in time to clean up the blood and dwarf chunks from previously mentioned carnage.

In order to usher in the new version, we need to show the new hazards.

We will need at least one U-bend bug, we will need at least one if not two cave-ins causing damage to multiple floors, and we will need a major carp attack.

There is no aquifer, so tunnelling upwards into an aquifer is a no-go.  The U-bend bug should be able to help us with destroying multiple levels of the fort, especially when combined with the holes caused by cave-ins.

I'm listing all this since I won't be able to do it myself.  I get 8 FPS on a 3x3 map with sixty or so dwarves, and if you've ever upgraded a laptop I highly recommend you list the instructions on how to do so easily.  I'm out.

I don't think the goal of being a boatmurdered 'spiritual successor' is to destroy the fortress in as many new ways as possible. The goal is that it will be written in similar style adopting boatmurdered's humor and intelligence. Of course we can set up a collapsible self destruct mechanism the same way Keyboard fox set up a lever of doom. That doesn't mean we have to pull it when our fortress is thriving. Yes we probably will have massive carp battles but that doesn't mean we will send 60 unarmed immigrants to their death 'for the greater good'.

Oh and the best way to upgrade a laptop is buy a new one. They are extremely difficult to put together compared to a desktop.

I'm sorry for kind-of-flaming you Kagus. I love your stories and your writing style especially in the woodsman. I wish you could join us as your creativity would make this successions game so much funnier and I hope you upgrade your Laptop soon  :D

That's not even remotely close to flaming.  But as far as Boatmurdered goes, it wasn't great because some guy took the persona of a farmer mountainbilly or because someone else came in and started swearing, it was because it followed the game's motto to the letter.  Losing is fun.

It wasn't the seasonal flood that made it great, it was the monthly elephant attack.  It wasn't the happy couple who had a child, it was the dog who ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Boatmurdered was about losing spectacularly, and taking along as many other living creatures as it could.  If Boatmurdered had been a well-designed well-run well-defended fortress that lived happily ever after, it just wouldn't have been the same.  Instead, it was besieged by a menace that forced the dwarves to turn the world into a charred wasteland, it had death to such a degree that there weren't enough people to clear the rotting corpses out of the hallways before they turned to dust, it had tantrums and madness to such a degree that it tore itself apart from the inside.  Its failures were what made it great, not its successes.

The hazards just need to be updated.

So, I think I'll take... 9 sounds good. Nice lucky number and I get to continue working on whatever other people made. And maybe build some random levers.

If you want to move me up to 2 that's fine by me, I was trying to find the first available spot...and I can make carnage anywhere :-p

And that completes the list! yay! Now on to the updates while I work on my crazy engineer badge.

Also, things that could be made that could be there, but shouldn't be used while the fort is thriving are things like infinite lag generators. They generally involve water.

Crazy things you can do are things like tasking the activation lever for such things to be pulled when you pass the save.

I will occupy the open second year spot. As the oldest significantly active member of this forum, I am self-evidently awesome in every single way. (I admit that both of those statements are more false than true, but I like the way they sound. I look forward to raising/razing the prosperity of the fortress and invigorating/incinerating our economy with ingenious/insane methods.

Go ahead and give slot 2 to PTTG and I'll stay at 6, then we are good 2 go.
