Preferably medium or small. Actually, if you can find a good spot in smaller or pocket, it's good too as it'll cut down loading times and make finding the fortress in adventurer easier.

I don't mind for whatever. The turns are one year each yeah? It should only take me a day or so to burn through this if that's the case.

how fast are your computers?
mine can run 100 dwarfs at 100fps so I think I should go pretty far back on the list (maybe 10th or 13th) anyone else who has a good computer and wants to go near the end so the fortress won't get crippled by fps or should I just not worry about this?

Hmm, my comp isn't all that great, I'm running 15-20 fps with 80 dwarves on a 4x3. Its year 4-5 I think but its not all that great. I would be  fantastically happy with a 2x2 fortress in the tundra. Lacking that if anyone would like to switch from 5 or below that would be nice, otherwise I might actually step off. I would hate to drag the fortress into a laggy untimely end due to an outdated processor.

the pictures of 17 worlds I generated are here just look at them and tell me which one and where on it to embark and the most popular one wins.

if no one picks a world and location by tomorrow morning I'll pick one

I vote for any map that has "terrifying" and is bloody difficult to play in. :P

Here here. Though I think its best to have some natural resources lying around. That way we have opponents to keep it interesting and the ingredients for great things. Or just pull a Nist Akath except in a desert. Sand, sand everywhere! (A glass city would be neat)

My vote is for 15, it looks like a magma vent in a terrifying area, so I'm all for that.  We do need a f*ck the world device after all.

I'd sort of like to go somewhere in the middle, perhaps around where I am now on the list. And I'll vote for any of the smaller/pocket maps - I think I got around 40-50 FPS on a smaller map after 6 years. That and I agree on exploring it in adventure mode, always a fun thing to do   :D

I'm leaning toward 17, preferably near the middle ocean, perhaps in the badlands, or tropical forest.

I really dont have any preference to where we embark. part of the fun in this is to be thrown into the fray and working with what im given.

Go for it. Don't make the embark site too big though.
