The thoughts of Gothmog Stolenseized, 12th Granite 1090.
Finally, the Elven diplomat has arrived, and the foolish dwarves open their gates! It's time to rush in and slaughter them!

I shall strike down many with my mighty sword!


We go undetected, but wait! A sole dwarven warrior has seen us! Surely he will alert... what is this? The fool is rushing towards us, instead of alerting his comrades!

Surely this buffoon realises the power of the goblin horde! It's time to make him understand!



Good grief he's fast! No sooner had we engaged him than we're being showered with the limbs of our comrades at the fore!

I give the order to surround him, but as soon as do he steps forth and slashes away a sizable chunk of my left thigh! The pain is horrible!

I crawl to get out of the way, I must survive! As I crawl, I continue to shout the lads on!

They begin running past me, and I know they are routing, even as I try to crawl away. Corpses of my comrades fly everywhere, the ground is littered with blood, weapons, and limbs. None of which are this dwarfs!
He strikes down one of the women, not sure who, since the body explodes from the impact right near me. Standing over me, I looked into his face and know true terror. This is the face of Nist Akath!
I hold out my hand in supplication, for mercy, and he strikes it off! I know only the blade as it swings towards me in its terrible arc...

What shall I say? Gothmog died, but he met Captain Ironblood in person. Thats more than most dwarves can say about themselves.  8)

Mayoral Report - Lokum Lerommeng, 14th of Felsite 1090
Disaster! More disaster!
Today I got a missing persons report for one Urvad WalledDrives, daughter and only remaining relative of the late Kinneus. The last time she was seen she was going to go wall up a section of the tomb trail. I fear the worst!

Worse than that, our master farmer Ral, and master bone carver Helm have both been crushed under collapsing rock!
Zonhin, artist extraordinaire died after plummeting to his death in the same incident.
Several important dwarves are amongst those extremely wounded, including BurnedToast, Magni, Marigi, and Tigerbunny.

This construction stuff is harder than I'd thought!

wow! a fortress that lasted two real life years!  I didnt read the whole thread front to back, so I don't know of setbacks but damn!
